Cindy Luis covers University of Hawaii volleyball for the Star-Advertiser. She began her career as a sports journalist in Hawaii in 1981 with the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and was the sports editor, assistant sports editor, columnist and beat writer during a 31-year span before the paper became the Star-Advertiser. She graduated from UCLA in 1977 with a B.A. in Communication Studies.

Team had morning practice, took team picture before hand. Both Maglio and Taylor were being ‘rested’ according to Shoji. Nothing exciting really. They used several lineups during scrimmages. Team practiced early this morning before classes. Are leaving later today. As mentioned yesterday, Mitchem taking swings on the left and middle. Spoke to Cal Poly coach today. Asked if he thought the conference was better than last year. He said yes. This will be their first home match. School starts Wednesday.

Tuesday checkin: Travel roster

They will travel 14. Those that are NOT going are the two redshirts: Ma’afala and Okino Guinasso, Ross and Smith. Don’t shoot the messenger. Likely it will change for the next road trip as they tend to alternate the non-scholarship DSs for the road trips. Previous thread asked why Taylor didn’t play her senior year at Kaiser. If I remember correctly part of it was due to injury.
