Cindy Luis covers University of Hawaii volleyball for the Star-Advertiser. She began her career as a sports journalist in Hawaii in 1981 with the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and was the sports editor, assistant sports editor, columnist and beat writer during a 31-year span before the paper became the Star-Advertiser. She graduated from UCLA in 1977 with a B.A. in Communication Studies.

Anderson named academic all-district

Congrats to Anderson for academic honor. She’s in the honors program for biology. now eligible for Academic All-American. one of six to be named all-district 8. Others are from BYU, Cal, Oregon, Fresno State and USC Anderson is just the fifth Rainbow Wahine to be recognized by CoSIDA for the prestigious award. Lily Kahumoku (2003), Kanoe Kamana’o (2004, ’05), Tara Hittle (2008), and Kanani Danielson (2009, ’10, ’11) are the only other women’s volleyball players to receive the honor. She […]
