Warrior Beat: Washington State guard Ahmed Ali joining Hawaii men’s basketball team

Ahmed Ali, a 5-11 guard who started 24 games for Washington State the past season, told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser this morning he is joining the Rainbow Warrior basketball team. After two years at a junior college and one at WSU, Ali has two years to play one season. The Hawaii men’s basketball 2019-20 nonconference schedule continues to be revealed piece by piece. The latest reveal came Monday afternoon, when San Francisco announced its schedule on Twitter. Hawaii athletics facilities: Stan Sheriff Center floor resurfacing underway

“We can hardly wait to get out on our new floor, it is going to be something,” University of Hawaii women’s basketball coach Laura Beeman said today as workers have begun the refinishing of the Stan Sheriff Center court. Hawaii’s first-known nonconference opponent of the 2019-20 season — aside from Ball State in the previously announced Diamond Head Classic pairings — is Maine of the America East Conference. Whistles and wide eyes greeted the latest upgrade for the Hawaii men’s basketball team. The Rainbow Warriors will open against Ball State in the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic on Dec. 22, ESPN Events announced today. Depending on the outcome, the ‘Bows will face either UTEP or Washington. The other first-round pairings are Houston against Portland, and Georgia Tech against Boise State.
