By Warrior World on December 7, 2019

Boise State made the plays the University of Hawaii couldn’t en route to a 31-10 victory to clinch the Mountain West Conference Championship football game before a boisterous Broncos crowd that has come to expect nothing less. The Rainbow Warriors had their chances, but failed to convert two big fourth-down plays inside the Broncos 5 to fall to 9-5 for the season. They will likely play host to Brigham Young on Christmas Eve in the Hawaii Bowl. Boise State will […]

Hawaii football: Rainbow Warriors ready for redemption in Boise; Dayton Furuta tabbed for Hula Bowl

By Brian McInnis on December 3, 2019

Hawaii went up to Boise, Idaho, in mid-October with the best of intentions. The Rainbow Warriors might not have been afraid of any ghosts at Albertsons Stadium, but there were definitely some demons of struggles past that spawned early in a 59-37 loss to the then-No. 14 Broncos. Fortunately for all involved, that wasn’t the end of the line. Resurgent UH (9-4, 5-3 Mountain West) will contend with now-No. 19 BSU (11-1, 8-0) at 11 a.m. (HST) Saturday in an […]

By Brian McInnis on December 2, 2019

December is often when things calm down a bit in the realm of collegiate athletics in the wake of typically busy Novembers. Not this week for Hawaii, and not for the Rainbow Forecast. Between the football team heading up to Boise for its first Mountain West championship game, the Rainbow Wahine volleyball team hosting an NCAA subregional for the first time since 2013, and both UH basketball teams heading on the road for stiff challenges against ranked teams … big […]

AP College Football Poll: Alabama loss opens door for Oklahoma, Baylor or Utah

By Dave Reardon on December 1, 2019

As noted a couple of weeks ago, there are some Utah fans who have made their displeasure with my voting pattern this season very clear. And if any of them saw last week’s comment about how difficult it would be for any Pac-12 team to make it to the College Football Playoff they couldn’t have liked that much, either — because by then it was clear that “any Pac-12 team” meant the Utes. I’ve come around; Utah is one of […]

A streaky Hawaii offense got help from its defense at just the right times as the Rainbow Warriors held on for a 52-31 victory over Army at Aloha Stadium on Saturday night. Hawaii (9-4) started Chevan Cordeiro, but it was Cole McDonald who took the Warriors home, entering when Cordeiro injured his leg 3 minutes and 36 seconds before halftime and completing 19 of 29 passes for 250 yards and three touchdown passes. McDonald entered with the game tied at […]
