Warriors will debut new helmets

The Warriors will unveil their new helmets during a private ceremony with donors on Aug. 13. Nick Rolovich said the Warriors will have two sets of helmets to provide more sartorial options. He said these are new helmets, not refurbished ones. Donors contributed to the cost of the helmets ($450 apiece). A donor’s name will be inscribed on the inside of the helmet. RB not expected to play this season

Running back Melvin Davis is not expected to play this coming season because of an apparent knee injury. Davis rushed for 218 yards in eight games in 2015 after transferring from Santa Monica College. He redshirted last year after suffering an infection that required hospitalization. Davis did not participate in spring training or the offseason conditioning program because of what appeared to be a knee injury. Kahuku O-lineman set to join Warriors

Offensive lineman Te Rauparaha “Ra” Elkington will join the Warriors for the 2017 season. Elkington, a 2017 Kahuku High graduate, is 6 feet 5 and 315 pounds. He was an offensive lineman for the Red Raiders’ football team and a member of the state-champion basketball team. “I wanted to stay home and play in front of all my family and friends,” Elkington said. “Ever since I was young, that was one of my dreams.” He is named after his ancestor, […]

As the punsters say, quarterbacks’football dreams don’t die, they just pass away. Former UH quarterback Bryan Moniz, channeling Roger Goodell and Ice Cube, has launched a 7-on-7 football tournament today at Leilehua High. The five high school teams — Aiea, Mililani, Leilehua, Damien and Kapolei — will play a round round beginning at 10 a.m. After that, the teams will be seeded for a championship round.
