Bye week is a time to seek depth, and KITV is giving Brandi Higa a shot as weekend sports anchor. Higa, a former college volleyball player, knows the news business. She has been KITV’s morning news producer for four years. She also is used to sports deadlines, being part of Da Blitz coverage. She’s smart, funny and mentored by Robert Kekaula.

His turn with the regular offense was so unexpected that the media relations staff could not identify him.
