Few noticed when defensive secondary coach Daronte’ Jones was promoted to assistant head coach the past spring. Perhaps, it was because UH did not announce Jones’ added role. And that appears to fit Jones’ style and personality. In Norm Chow’s absence, Jones is handling the head coach’s administrative duties. Head coach Norm Chow will remain on the mainland to be with his wife Diane, who underwent a procedure for a brain aneurism Friday evening at the UCLA Medical Center. Barring any unforeseen complications, Chow will return to Honolulu on Monday night. The Warriors usually have only meetings and conditioning drills on Mondays.
