Holloway is honorary captain

The Warriors have rounded into shape and, for the opener, that shape is the octagon. Max Holloway, Waianae-raised and School of Hard Knocks educated will be the Warriors’ honorary captain for Thursday’s game against Colorado. JC QB to help scouts

The defense received a boost with the addition of a quarterback. Steven Hamm, who played at Santa Monica College last year, has joined the Warriors as a walk-on. He is expected to play scout quarterback in drills against the first- and second-team defenses. Hamm displayed a strong arm and mobility during the warm-up session of the Warriors’ 75-minute practice last night at Ching field. The Warriors are set to practice under the lights tonight in preparation for Thursday night’s opener against Colorado. It will be their first night practice this preseason. With the opener on Thursday, that means today is “Monday,” which means this is the start of game week. The Warriors had a nice 75-minute practice this morning. In team drills, they focused on the running game and two-minute offense. There still are some spots up for grabs.
