LAS VEGAS — For the first time this season, the Warriors had a full practice at the site of a road game when they worked out at Sam Boyd Stadium. Before arriving, UH’s equipment specialists raised the Hawaiian flag at the stadium.

Norm Chow addressed the Warriors for the final time this morning, encouraging them to continue to work hard on the field and in the classroom. When he finished, interim head coach Chris Naeole requested the Warriors’ traditional gesture of appreciation. The players and coaches gave three loud claps for Chow.
Norm Chow was “relieved of his duties” as head coach today, athletic director David Matlin announced today. Chris Naeole will serve as interim head coach. Naeole, who coaches the offensive line, was promoted to associate head coach this past summer.
Norm Chow is a good guy. Except for stretches — sometimes weeks — when he’s mad and doesn’t talk to me, he’s helpful, accommodating and one of the best to cover. Sure, Air Force is a misnomer. The Falcons run 85 percent of the time. Of course, that means they also can lull defenses into packing the tackle box, opening the way for play-action passes — Karson Roberts is very good with the bait-and-switch — and the double passes.
