Defensive lineman Joey Nuuanu-Kuhiiki, a recent Waianae High graduate, is willing to accept an offer to join the Warriors as preferred walk-on this summer. But that plan is contingent on Nuuanu-Kuhiiki securing money to pay for tuition and school expenses. “If I can get the money together, I will make it,”said Nuuanu-Kuhiiki, who is awaiting responses on his applications for financial aid and non-football scholarships. Goeas set to join Warriors

Colton Goeas, a 2013 Saint Louis School graduate and former Kansas linebacker, is set to join the Warriors this fall. But whether he will be eligible to play this coming season is awaiting a ruling from the NCAA. Goeas is petitioning for an exemption to a rule requiring a transferring player to establish one-year, full-time “residency” at his new school before being eligible to play. Raised in ‘Ewa Beach and soon to be graduating from Iolani School, lineman Taaga Tuulima is living a life seemingly created in a Disney writers’ room. In this academic year’s third quarter, Tuulima set a goal of straight A’s. He did better, earning a 4.5 GPA, thanks to advance-placement classes in calculus, physics and economy. He also studies Mandarin, and plays saxophone in the stage band. He recently received Iolani’s Walter Goo Trophy for combined excellence in athletics and academics. […]
