Good morning from the arena. Practice not as early as last week since summer school is out. They are going 8-11 a.m. first session as opposed to 6-9 a.m. Manoa Move-In today also for the dorms. Pretty standard skills and drills, some with entire team, some broken down by position. Two players still haven’t passed test. Not mentioning who due to HIPA. Practice scheduled to start at 6 a.m. They started warming up at 5:48. New strength coach is former baseball player Steven Ventimilia. Only Sophia Howling not cleared to practice. Team spent about 20 minutes warming up in the arena then went out to run on the track. Fun music. First song: I’m So Excited. The AVCA poll is out. Think UH’s run being ranked in preaseason poll may be over today.

Not much of a surprise … other than UH getting four first-place votes out of the nine. Hawaii was picked second behind defending champion Cal Poly.
