Hawaii down to 73 in RPI

Hawaii’s RPI dropped three spots to 73 in Monday’s NCAA women’s volleyball Ratings Percentage Index. The Rainbow Wahine (11-6, 7-1 Big West) had moved up to 70 last week after opening at 100 in the inaugural computer-generated rankings. The conference teams with higher RPIs than Hawaii are No. 12 Cal Poly (17-1, 7-0), which remanded at 18, and UC Irvine (11-7, 6-1) which dropped four spots to 51. Junior setter-hitter Norene Iosia had her fourth triple-double of the season, her second straight, and senior opposite Angel Gaskin added 12 kills as Hawaii defeated Long Beach State for the fourth straight meeting, topping the 49ers 25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 25-20 in a Big West volleyball match tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center. Saturday vs. CSUN is Hawaii’s Dig Pink Hawaii Pacific Health is the sponsor for “Dig Pink Night” and will distribute Pink Shirts to the first 500 fans at Gate A along with awarding other prizes throughout the night.
