Hawaii volleyball: U.S. men win at NORCECA, Top 25 scores

The U.S. men’s national team, with three players with Hawaii ties on the roster, won its pool at the NORCECA Continental Championship on Wednesday with a 25-17, 25-21, 25-22 victory over Cuba in Winnipeg, Canada. As announced this morning, Hawaii junior hitter Jolie Rasmussen was named the AVCA Division I player of the week. This is the ninth time Hawaii has picked up Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week honors. The last one to do it was Nikki Taylor on November 22, 2016. Sorry for the late post on Jolie Rasmussen. Was out on errands. From the Big West Hawaii junior hitter Jolie Rasmussen was named the Big West Player of the Week on Monday. Rasmussen led Hawaii to a 3-0 start to the season including a pair of upsets over nationally ranked opponents.
