Hold me back
It was a Flint who sparked the post-game fight between UH and Cincinnati in the last meeting, won by the Warriors, 20-19, in 2002.
“Remember Jared Flint, the (UH reserve) quarterback?” said Chris Brown, who was a UH linebacker at the time. “Somebody took a swing at him. The two sides surged from there. We weren’t going to let our quarterback take a hit.”
Brown admitted to being involved.
“We were in the mix,” said Brown, now a UH manager. “We had to defend our territory.”
And what induced a Bearcat to swing at Flint?
“He was the only one without a helmet on,” Brown said. “He was standing on the sideline.”

UH teammates and coaches were angry that defensive end David Veikune was not placed on the All-WAC first team.
But Veikune said he was not bothered by the snub.
“I’m not losing any sleep over it,” Veikune said. “Every game I know I’ve played as hard as I can. I can’t dwell on the past.”
He also said he was “honored” to have placed on the second team. (As a reserve last year, he made the 2007 All-WAC first team.)
“I didn’t have the most sacks this year, and we weren’t undefeated,” Veikune said. “I give a lot of credit to the other guys.”

Onarock has an extra ticket to Saturday’s game, and he’ll donate it to our contest winner. Thing is, in the spirit of giving, he wants the ticket to go to a Blood Bank donor. If you have given blood this week, or will before Saturday’s game, you’re eligible. To enter the contest, please write: “I want to enter.” Drawing will be tonight.

Well-wishes may be sent to: gdholden@hawaii.rr.com
WOO HOO FIRST!!!
Prayers and good thoughts for Kristin.
My prayers go out to ‘Curveball’, Kristin and their family as well…
I’m sitting here watching a DVD of the 2006 UH vs. Purdue game… boy do I miss these guys…Colt, Davone, RGM, Rivers, Ilaoa, the whole O-Line… Peters, Patek, Alama-Francis, Purcell and yeah…even JJ…
Haha…yeah, I remember seeing someone took a swing at Flint…after “someone else” threw a drink at a Bearcat… wasn’t Chris brown the one running around with a Cincy helmet? Or was that the Hawaii Bowl fight?
Top 5!!
OK really late for me. Oyasumina-tsai. Hasta manana.
Prayers and best wishes for Kristen- get well soon..Curveball give her all of your energy to suppress the ailment…
Going back to missing the Warriors of 2006… the YAC output from these receivers was crazy…

good morning
good morning Vegas…
Hi Shannon,
up late or up early?
oh wait, watching a DVD!
Shhhh..I’m at work… watching a DVD… : )
Stephen,
Was it the Cincy or Houston coached that in some way blamed Hawaii for having too many fans on the field with field passes? Saying something like they were being taunted by these fans…..
If some of you look who is on the field with passes, I think the AVERAGE age is around 45-55
opps.. coaches not coached
Vegas, any “CC’s” in the 702 around 12/28 – 01/02? I’ll be in town visitng my parents during that time…
eh, BigWave…long time no talk!!! I think it was the Cincy coaches…
Braddah Shans…
Keeping the city safe early in the morning up there in SJ?
Shannon,
702WN and myself are always ready for the next mini CC
jrcollins42 at excite dot com
drop a line B4 u come
BigWave…Yeah…Kinda (as you can see, I’m watching the 2006 game vs. Purdue at the office) I finished my report early but nothings going on out there so… here I am! lol! How you been?
Vegas, sounds good. I’ll make sure to get in touch with you when I get there… You guys been to that ‘Island Sushi’ on Maryland?
Shannon,
Busy with the 2 boys (1 and 4)..
Your 2 boys must be getting bigger and bigger..
Your wife still want to send them to Cal when they are big boys or has she converted to the Warrior Nation?
It was the Cincinnati AD who complained.
This also was the the incident in which HF received some bad advice. After the fight, reporters implored HF to give a statement. He declined, saying he wanted to wait. Then the Cincinnati AD started making some negative comments about UH. Again, we asked HF to make a statement. Again, he declined. The Cincinnati AD made more comments, and they went national. Cincy got to give its version for two days before HF decided to respond. But he responded around 3:30-4 on a Tuesday afternoon, meaning it missed all of the East Coast papers. Cincinnati just had better spin control nationally.
It was HF’s first semester at UH, so I don’t really blame him as much. But I think somebody — Dobelle? Costello? — should have given him a little PR help.
BigWave, Yeah kids are a handful, yeah? Always got something to do with them or take them to… My older boy (9yrs. old, 5’2″, 115 lbs.) decided to take a break from Football this year. But he’s been playing basketball instead. It’s his second year and he’s already been MVP for 3 out of their 4 games. He’s plays “point-forward”, a la Lebron James… and all 3 of us (my little one is 6 now) have been taking JiuJitsu since March… Can you say no “free time” ?
Stephen,
Were you ever near any danger during the Cincy or Houston brawls?
I think ST was the one who threw the drink at the Cincy guy… lol
Best Quote:
“After the game all the aloha that these two have for each other is gone. The luan forget about it, cancelled. The first thing in a fight never take your helmet off. AND never get into a bunch of Polynesian like that, brah” — Neil Everett ESPN
Oh Mahalo Stephen….
Haha, I remember Neil Everett saying that…
WOW…How dare I forget Ross Dickerson… His 4th qtr. clutch catch-juke-sprint and leap into the endzone TD was flat out awesome…
Our aloha and prayers go out to Sliders grammy.
A fine morning to all!
One day closer.
Yeah!
Oh my!!!
The blog clock is nearly spot on!!!
I should expect a lot of snow sometime in the next few weeks. That would be a good thing for the ski slopes.
Shannon, las vegas, 702WN,
We just booked a trip to Vegas that would be for around the time Shannon will be there! We are staying at the new Hilton resort from December 29-December 31. In exchange for attending one of their presentations, we’re getting money from them to stay at their place.
Cattle call on December 29 or 30 would work for us. Either dinner is free for us and lunch on 12/30 is also open now.
Interesting that Texas Tech’s Mike Leach tried hard to get the Miami and UCLA jobs but neither school was interested. I wonder if those schools regret not hiring him? I’m sure that Texas Tech is grateful he stayed!
The Texas vs. Texas A&M game got higher ratings than the Cardinals/Eagles game that was being broadcast at the same time.
David Veikune might say that he’s not upset by the snub by the WAC…but I hope that he takes out his frustration on the Cincinnati QB on Saturday!
Good morning Tsai-kos!! Howzit to the Mainland Tsai-kos!! Now, where da heo is brew (coqui, coqui)?
Hope the weather holds out for Saturday. I don’t want to have to cover up the white shirt with a different color jacket or poncho.
ESPN had an interesting tidbit about Washington State.
ribbit… 🙄
Great Morning All!
Kind thoughts and prayers to Kristin and curveball.
Garret,
Agreed. I think Saturday night could be a big night for all the DE’s; although I’m hoping not so much for their guys.
Any update on how the Cincy coach will be “dealing with” his DE’s recent arrest? I find it telling that the player made the trip at all.
A flint won’t spark unless it’s struck!
Have a great day erryboddy!
HiHo….
d1shima,
The Cincinnati coach hasn’t said whether or not their DE will play. He hasn’t had a trial yet and they haven’t even finished the investigation for what happened, so nobody knows if he will play vs. UH.
I think it is a good idea to bring the DE on the trip, where they can watch over him 24/7 instead of leaving him back with no supervision.
Cincinnati’s other starting DE also had some incident, but that was a year or two ago and has been put behind him.
The news that 51 people will be leaving the Advertiser, voluntarily or involuntarily, is sad. It is sadder to read this news about how the newspaper industry’s problems will result in some cities losing all of their local papers by 2010.
Good Morning Tsaikos!!
that should have been a sign for things to come…. Always a day (or week) late
Aloha Kakahiaka!
I can’t believe I’m reading about that bum Frazier again, Excuse me while a leave the room to embark on some screaming and swearing.
Good Morning Tsaikos and everyone else! Hope everyone has a good day. Prayers and thoughts to Curveball and Kristen and ohana.
Who’z HF ?
Let’s just hope that the fans honor the game and in doing so, honor the players on the field on Saturday night. Two years ago when I went to see UH play at UNLV it really looked stupid in the stands. Idiotic folks (not fans) just looking to be stupid and start fights were all over the place.
If we treat this game with Cincy in the same light because we feel that “we have to defend our turf” and provoke confrontation, the only people who stand to loose will be the UH, our community, the State and ultimately the team as no one would want to come to play the game.
It’s a game, honor it and as fans we cannot allow bad behavior to have anyplace in the sport.
Further- it is Senior Night and every reason to honor our players with our support and respectful enthusiasm!
HiHo!
Good morning everybody!!
Will be praying for Kristin and Curveball.
Imagine this coming game against Cincy with Zero penalties for UH, and with a Big East officiating crew.
And on top with a win!
Slam Dunk at the BCS
My thoughts and prayers to Kristen and Curveball. Let’s all give to help with recovery.
Aloha Kakahiaka!!!
Many, many prayers out for Kristen & Curveball and their ‘ohana, as well as all of those with health challenges.
ST ~ Wonderful article about Solly and Adam. Brought tears to my eyes.

wishing the best for curveball mrs. get well 😐 soon kristen.
ditto the many comments for the seniors. come out and show some luv 😛 for their hard work and dedication to the 808 state. also yell your lungs out and rock da hale.
reply to stevem comments: after two years I stopped trying to make heads or tails on what will happened. just let peeps do what they feel is best. the tgate still is great and everyone enjoys themselves no matter what. my comments was nothing negative but just saying to the one’s who come that they are and have been very generous with what the do to make the tgate suppa.
Hi everyone!
My prayers and thoughts are with Curveball, his wife, and their family through this time.
Two great chickin skin articles this morning. One FB by ST and the other WVB by Ann Miller. Advertiser take note, these are two really talented journalist that blended sports with the personal side in these articles. Been through a layoff and it’s really stressful having to file for unemployment and seeing the 6 months click down while you are looking for another job; double whammy this time of the year too.
Don’t know Curveball, but wishing his wife well.
aloha
thoughts and prayers from our ohana to kristin, curveball and their ohana. the power of prayer is unmatched…..
koakane – mahalo for the good word, will relay the thoughts to the beast, will know tomorrow if he is playing on saturday
to all the Tsaikos, let us all be thankful for what we have and give our thanks.
short comments before back to managing the compound. oline will have their hands full against cincy, wishing them the best.
d1 on 1500 now and commenting on dends not playing this sat. got arrested before getting on plane but other end still awesome. d1 sure sound like a knowledgeable or is it another person impersonating him 😆
bulla safe journey to you and mrs this weekend. know that beast has fball in blood but need to heal up and play for another day also live life free of pain when fball is pau.
Morning/afternoon, Tsaiko-Nation and Tsai-Meister.
Kristin, Curveball and Ohana,
The combined power of prayer of Tsaiko-Nation shall carry you like a chariot in overcoming your hardship.
We’re all with you.
i also recall that a medical crutch was used in the previous cincy brawl.
that and a certain warrior player had grabbed a cincy helmet like it was a trophy head and was running around the field with it raised high above his head.
but what i mainly remember is that the cincy players were undisciplined all game long. they were swearing and talking trash with the fans by us from kickoff. you could just tell that something bad was brewing. they probably were talking even worse on the field. and then it all culminated with that hit on timmy’s leg.
although these are 2 different teams with 2 different coaching staffs. the only people that were there previously were the fans, the ex-players that are now coaches like Chris Brown, and some of the assistant coaches.
oh, i forgot to link to the news from yesterday. there’s the crutch shot (homey, i said crutch) that i remembered.

Garret
ten – four!
koakane,
Just passing along knowledge that I got from right here. Thanks for the info Garret.
I do think that how Cincy’s coach approaches this game will be crucial. They arrived yesterday where IIRC most teams come in on a Thursday. Hope they are taking an extra day of “Maitais and Mopeds”!
Prayers for Kirstin and curveball and their ohana. May God’s grace be with you.
Bulla and Mrs. Bulla,
Have a safe trip!
Miss you guys at the TsaikoGates. 🙁
Very sorry for the Advertiser employess who are affected by these lay offs. Thank you for your hard work these past years.
Yo Bullas! Best to you and the Beast as you head out east.
Can I get Beast!!??
Can I get a Wildcats??!!
Go Ryan!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Cincy shmincy! Warriors are gonna rock!
our thoughts and prayers go out to kristin and her husband… God be with you both in this trying time
Oh yeah…
A special mahalo out to homey, the tour guide/consultant extraordinaire.
I just saw this on yesterday’s post:
“Defensive end Lamonte Nelms, who was arrested over the weekend an charged with criminal trespassing and resisting arrest, will make the trip to Hawaii but Kelly said he hasn’t decided yet if Nelms will play Saturday. “We’ll handle him internally,” Brian Kelly said. “He’ll be handled appropriately given the circumstances. We’re disappointed in Lamonte, but he’ll be handled consistently with the policies I have in place within our program.””
WHA?! He was just ARRESTED and their program might STILL allow him to play this week? How was this guy even allowed to get on a plane with the rest of the team? Man, talk about screwed up priorities…
Good morning Tsaikos….again, have to Esme today…
Prayers out to Kristin, Curveball, and Sliders grammy…..like bulla said, prayers can be a powerful thing. God Bless during this difficult time…
I remember that Cincy fight…and wasn’t there one again during the Hawaii Bowl against the other UH….????
Okay gang, gotta go….talk laters….
Pat Hills says no to Washington.

Thanks to Isleboy
Good Morning Tsai-kos!!
I’ve been in a crunch with work and other projects lately, so my lurking time has been curtailed, but I have been checking in, just no time to read ALL the posts and respond.
Interesting speculation from AP about the bowl lineups. Northern Illinois in the Hawai’i Bowl?? I had to look them up. A 6-6 team in the MAC that didn’t beat a single team with a winning record this year! The average record of the teams they beat is 3-9!! How does a team like this even get CONSIDERED for a bowl game?? Heaven help the Hawai’i Bowl if that’s the best team they can get!!!
From Rivals.com…
Cincinnati (10-2) at Hawaii (7-4), 11:30 p.m., ESPN2
The buzz: Cincinnati already has won the Big East title and locked up a BCS bid. If the Bearcats are interested in the outcome of this game, they will win. If they mess around and act like they’re on vacation, though, they will lose.
The line: Cincinnati by 7. | The pick: Cincinnati 27-17.
Screw the line… bet UH. 🙂
to the Tsaikos,
miss everyone from the T-Gates, but we can’t be in 2 places at 1 time.
we’ll be cheering from Missoula MT for the Warriors to be victorious, as we hope for the Wildcats to be in the win column also. during this crazy season that everyone calls Christmas…..amidst the hustle and bustle, the stress and pressure, take a deep breath and remember the ‘purpose of Christmas’
1. Celebration: the birth of Jesus
2. Salvation: the greatest gift of all
3. Reconcilliation: make things pono with family and friends, let go the opala, the truth shall set you free. let go the bondage of unforgiveness and live life to it’s fullest. forgiveness is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of divine and intrinsic strength….let it go. i define grace like this….
God’s
Riches
At
Christ’s
Expense
we love you guys, we love the Warriors, and we love our Wildcats
GO WARRIORS
GO WILDCATS
Watch for recruiting to change for Utah and Utah State…
“The Utah Utes will have more football coaches to replace than just defensive coordinator Gary Andersen.
Sources have confirmed Utah wide receivers coach Aaron Roderick and inside linebackers coach Kalani Sitake will follow Andersen to Utah.
Andersen, who has been on the Utah coaching staff for 11 seasons, is being announced today as Utah State’s head coach.
Roderick was Andersen’s offensive coordinator at SUU when Andersen coached the Thunderbirds in 2003 and Sitake coached SUU’s offensive line and tight ends.
Contract details for Sitake and Roderick haven’t been finalized, but Andersen will be able to offer the two sizable increases, sources have confirmed.”
Texas Tech DB (housemate of Michael Crabtree) was arrested by the DEA for dealingcocaine. He went to Texas Tech from CCSF–wasn’t that where Rolo coached? But Rolo might not have known him if he left CCSF before Rolo got there.
I take exception to Ferd’s column this morning inferring that UH Football “bad reputation” because of the three(3) consecutive post-game brawls was initiated by Warrior players. Also, that mainland schools don’t want to play Hawaii because of this.
IT WAS THE OPPOSING PLAYERS WHO STARTED EVERY BRAWL – POOR SPORTS FOR LOSING TO “lowly Hawaii”.
Perhaps it’s the MAINLAND CULTURE that’s the root of the cause for believing that they ARE BETTER BECAUSE THEY ARE FROM THE MAINLAND. Something that maybe the coaching staff brain-washes players that to lose to Hawaii is a SHAME!!!!!!!
If the inference was not what I read, then I apologize to Ferd for a poorly written column.
Hawaii may not have started the brawls, but the quotes from players didn’t help promote a positive image, like this excerpt from the post-game story of the Cincinnati game:
– If Cincinnati wins its final two games and becomes bowl eligible, there is a chance the Bearcats could face the Warriors in the Hawaii Bowl on Christmas Day. “I would love that,” Moenoa said. “We can just skip the game and go straight to the fight.”
Hopefully, the Warriors can smash the Bearcats by at least 20 points, then there shouldn’t be any tension near the end of the game!
I don’t think that Mack would a fight to happen, even if Cinci starts it. He seems to have a lot more control over the team than in years past.
would allow….
stretch….hamura saimin w/two orders bbq meat and two orders bbq chix and a slice of lilikoi chiffon pie sounds good about now.
a quick good morning to all………and joining in prayer with the Tsaiko’s………speedy recovery Kristin.
i would think Hawaii can win late with a clutch field goal, but this season the ice man……………………….well anyways, Hawaii will still win it close, makes for an even more exciting game.
st….nice title for today’s blog. idk if the youngsters appreciate or can associate with the phrase so popular in the old days.
har, har, har.
al – good idea, was wondering what I was going to eat for lunch today…
Kristin and Curveball – please know that we are praying for you and your family.
Many prayers out to Kristin and curveball as well as their ohana.
Mmmmm Stretch! Now that I can handle…can you bring me back some?
Note to Jason and the other 49ers fans here: Mike Martz is a rumored candidate for SDSU.
SDSU has gone ahead with the $160 increase in student fees to support their athletic program.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kristen and Curveball during this tough time.
Happy Thursday everybody!
I noticed that no one has entered the contest for onarock’s extra ticket. Let’s go Tsai-kos, take an hour out of your day and go donate a pint if you can! No be scared!! You get refreshments afterwards and I found that it’s good for about a 2 lb temporary weight loss. 😀 I used to give regularly but can’t anymore.
Ronnie – when do you arrive in town? Look forward to meeting you at the t-gate.
When does ST finish with his class and can post a practice report?
I saw this article on ESPN dot com about Auburn’s search for a new coach and one line from the Athletic Director stood out:
I’m sure the agent representing the future coach will bring that one to the table!
jm2375 – Ronnie arrives in town at 8:30 pm tomorrow
Let’s you and him fight! Wasn’t that a Three Stooges routine as well?
Having a loved one deal with liver cancer is not easy. My dad called me on Valentine’s Day 1980 to tell me what was happening. However, we can only hope & pray that as much progress has been made in treating liver cancer as there has been om treating heart disease.
Had a very realistic dream early this morning about Saturday’s game which UH won barely by the skin of their collective teeth. We were yelling our heads off and the team, coaches, and sideline spectators were dancing on the field when the cannon went off. I could clearly see everything. HPD was struggling to keep fans off the field and fights were breaking out all over.
Am I normally prescient? Nope – however, this is a HUGE game for Cincinnati as they do not want to head off to a BCS bowl game having lost to a mid-major team. But I normally don’t dream sports so why I did so this time around is really weird.
Before I forget – if additional tents, tables & chairs are needed for Saturday, we have enough to seat more than 100 under cover, but we would need help even to seat 25 – 30 folks because I can’t drive the (borrowed) truck we normally use and DrDoc’s not driving yet. Let me know if someone can help out with a truck and loading/unload and we’ll bring them.
Back to work – have four appointments this afternoon.
Curveball and Kristen
Let me add my voice in an appeal to the Greatest Power for Kristen’s healing.
Kristin & Curveball:
Our prayers for a full and speedy recovery for Kristin and your continued good health to help her in whatever way possible.
ST
After all these years, I still would like to get Jared Flint’s autograph on a picture that I took of Jared, Rolo, and Matt McBriar. Those rare moments that I run into Rolo, I always forget to ask if he stays in contact with Jared. Do you have any clue how I could get in touch with him?
afternoon gang!
my thoughts and prayers for Kristin and the Curveball ohana
Wassup Doc:
Like your dream very much – especially about UH winning and not so much about the “fighting”.
But if that occurs, it will be the Cincy players who starts it because they lost to UH.
Some day the “shame” mainland mentality of losing to UH will, hopefully, disappear because the Warriors will continue to win including many victories over the top teams in all BCS conferences. That, I hope, will be in my life time.
Mack again confirmed that the players will meet in the middle of the field Saturday night.
It would be classy if UH also recognized the Cincinnati seniors, too.
wow JM2375 with a white shirt in the rain zone- she’ll be ready for a wet t -shirt contest. you go girl! represent the tsaikos.
Wasn’t Jared Flint’s jersey number 20-something?
ST – thats good news, i’m with you on recognizing the opponent’s seniors too, i think i’ve seen this done at another senior night, was it mens basketball?
Does anyone know the status of Kealoha Pilares? Sorry if i missed it.
Thanks
Interesting to hear what Stephen said about urging HF to make a statement. I remember the Cincinnati game and those couple of years when there were so many fights. I never liked the AD and Coach at Cincinnati at the time. Though we were not completely free of fault, Cincinnati made it sound like it was all our fault that Cincinnati did nothing wrong and we were fully responsible for everything. All night Cinci were taking cheap shots at our players and disrespecting us. If I remember correctly it was a Cinci player that was swinging his helmet like a weapon. I really wished HF came out and defended the university since they made us into the villains and Cinici the angels.
A-House, I agree. We need to soon lose that rep as the “shame” mainland mentality. I think this program is on good footing now, not like when we had roller coaster years where the program was either really bad or fairly decent. We should get some respect as a program.
To me it would be a quality win or not a bad loss for team to come from the mainland and play in Hawaii. Everyone now knows that Hawaii is a tough place to place and were are a quality team now. So to get a win or to loose in Hawaii shouldn’t carry with it shame.
I guess losing to Appalachian State isn’t embarrassing. 🙂
Sorry for hogging the blog with 3 posts in a row, but this is my last one.
I am really hoping that we beat Cincinnati this weekend. I like to see how much face saving is going to happen from the BCS. Will Cinci get knocked out of the top 25 of the coaches poll which I think should happen if they loose to our unranked team. If they do get knocked out, how embarrassing would it be for an unranked team to get an automatic birth into the BCS and be behind 4, possibly 5 non-bcs teams in the BCS standings.
I can hear the cries of controversy.
Tsai-Meister,
That’s a nice Aloha idea, but don’t the Cinci players have to catch a plain to make it to their BCS party? That’s a big deal for them, just like Hawaii, it’s their first one and they’re planning a big hoopla with the fans, kind of like we did.
MissingUHFootball,
That’s exactly why you can be assured of Cinci bringing their A-Game, at least try to. We will get their very best shot and if we win, it will be truly earned.
MissingUHFootball:
Your last statement may take some offense by Michigan players, but it should not as, on that day/night, the better team won.
There are times when I reflect on the 2008 Sugar Bowl loss and say Georgia would have beaten any team they faced that night as they were, IMHO, the #1 college team in the country and should have played Ohio State for the National Championship. It just happened to be Hawaii. Thus, it makes me feel better, tho’ I would have preferred a closer final score or even a win, that Hawaii played the #1 team in the country. It makes me proud to be from Hawaii.
Wonder what the “pundits” would have written in that scenario?
Unfortunately for us, we were given a very small window, time wise, to return to the buses and was not there to sing Hawaii Pono’i. Friends say that many, if not all, of the Hawaii fans shed tears and I probably would have too! So proud to be from Hawaii.
A-House,
How are you and yours?
I think the shame factor has pretty much gone by the way side already and is replaced with a slight fear factor for teams coming here.
I think it is fairly well established that Hawaii is a tough place to play by now. Many of the Mainland pundits are often heard talking about it, ergo, we’re only 7 1/2 point underdogs to the Big East Champs. At the early part of the season that would have been 24.
The embarrassment for Cinci would be more in the fact that they’re desperate for national recognition and couldn’t afford to lose to ANY unranked team.
UH needs to recruit this kid.
Cody Paul

A-House,
I apologize if Michigan Players may take offense. I added that statement because I remember that Michigan didn’t want to play us that year and it so happened that was the year they lost to them.
I agree Georgia was the best team in the country when we played them. They really did outplay us. If we had a few plays go our way it might have been closer. I also think sometimes nights just don’t go your way. I remember when we pummeled BYU the night that Ty Detmer won his heisman. It just wasn’t his night.
Talking about Hawaii Pono’i brings back chicken skin moments. That whole time after the game will go down as one of my greatest UH Football moments. I feel kind of bad that we kind of interrupted Georgia’s well deserved time in the spotlight, We stood and applauded they players for their effort and for the wonderful season they gave us, they thanked us for supporting them, and we all sung Hawaii Pono’i. Talk about Hawaii pride being shown.
Aww A-House you missed “Hawaii Ponoi!”
MissingUHFootball is right…that has to be my most favorite moment ever for UH football. It was surreal the feeling in the SuperDome having all those Hawaii fans do that…I love watching it on YouTube.
I also feel that Georgia was a great team last year. My one question is how much better would we have done if some of those non-calls by the refs had been called. They were sanctioned for it, so it’s not like it didn’t happen. Just makes you wonder if Hawaii would have gotten some momentum going…hard to fight the battle when you’re going uphill the whole time.
I also loved the double overtime win against Fresno State. That stadium was rockin’. The kids thought that it was coming down for sure!
Just dropping in with an update on Kristin. Still in ICU as the staff at Pali Momi work to keep her stable. No improvement since yesterday. BP still too low to allow dialysis treatment.
Curveball is very happy to report that he has received many email wishes with prayers for her recovery. He was able to read them to her this morning. It made a difference. He wants to thank all who took the time to write. I told him that there are many more on the blog awaiting his return home from the hospital today. He is truly grateful.
Again prayers for Kristing and Curveball…..
Rob25 – I also liked the UW game last year when Willie K sang Hawaii Ponoi and the entire crowd sang it loud and proud on national television. Now if they would only sing the national anthem that way as well….

You have many friends amongst the Tsaikos and we are all pulling for you, Kristin and your ohana. Our best wishes, thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.
So glad to hear about Wie Sung Mi’s comeback at Q-school. She is clearly the most gifted and talented player in the field especially if you look at potential. Finally, someone has given her the right advice about qualifying for the LPGA. So if she makes it, and it looks that way, Michelle can pick and choose which tournament to play and not be labeled a sponsor’s choice. You go girl!
ST,
Actually the heading should be ” Eh, no hold me back, ah”… 😉
I love it how the Tsaiko Ohana responds to internal crisis.
From fearless leader, to last soul on the blog “We Are Tsai-ko!”
I’m so proud of all of you. Give yourselves the rest of the day off!
Bulla
Good luck to the Wildcats as they take on the Grizzlies; hope Ryan is good to go!
Kekoa…you couldn’t tell me that at 7:45 am 🙄
On a serious note, you are so right about the regulars on this blog. I’m proud to call you my friends!
A Cincinnati reporter feels the game will be a cakewalk. I hope he’s wrong. I’m hoping for good, hard hitting game free of personal foul penalties. A game where, in the end, both sides can meet in the middle of the battlefield to shake hands, and recognize the hard effort put forth by all of their senior players.

I wish the Cincinnati fans well at their BCS bowl game. Our Sugar Bowl was a great memory for me. I hope they, as first time BCS bowl gamers, have an enjoyable time too.
(J)J – I love listening to Willie K sing! That was great too! How about Amy this past game…she is awsome! Sista can blow!
Kekoa
# 131: Ditto that!
oohh, have you been “busy” at work today??!!?? hahahaha
Let’s all sing it….
“Baby, If you ever wondered,
wondered, whatever became of me.
I’m living on the air in Cincinatti.
Cincinatti, WKRP.
WKRP in Cincinatti”
http://www.hulu.com/wkrp-in-cincinnati
Rob…I won’t touch that last statement you made…I know homey might have something to say about that….LMAO
If I look at Cincy’s schedule:
Thu., Aug. 28 vs. Eastern Kentucky Cincinnati, Ohio W, 40-7
FCS team
Sat., Sep. 6 at Oklahoma Norman, OK L, 52-26
Good loss
Sat., Sep. 20 vs. Miami (OH) – Band Day Cincinnati, OH W, 45-20
Only two wins all season
Sat., Sep. 27 at Akron Akron, OH W, 17-15
Losing record 5-7 and they barely beat them
Fri., Oct. 3 at Marshall Huntington, WV W, 33-10
Another losing record 4-8
Sat., Oct. 11 vs. Rutgers – Homecoming * Cincinnati, OH W, 13-10
Barely won, Rutgers has five losses this season
Sat., Oct. 25 at Connecticut * East Hartford, CT L, 40-16
UConn is 7-4
Thu., Oct. 30 vs. USF – Halloween * Cincinnati, OH W, 24-10
USF 7-4 record
Sat., Nov. 8 at West Virginia Morgantown, W. Va. W, 26-23 (OT)
Nice win WV will finish with at least a winning record. They have 4 losses.
Fri., Nov. 14 at Louisville * Louisville, KY W, 28-20
Lousiville will be 6-6 at best.
Sat., Nov. 22 vs. Pittsburgh – Ring of Red Cincinnati, OH W, 28-21
Good win
Sat., Nov. 29 vs. Syracuse – Senior Day * Cincinnati, OH
Syracuse only has three wins
I’m thinking that they have some nice wins, but they aren’t unbeatable. Hopefully our team will be able to excute and put them on their back paws!
Stretch – I’m doing “Marketing.” I can do that legitimately because I work in market news for our department.
When looking at the Cincy schedule, it’s a good idea to note when their quarterback injuries took place. I think we’ll see that some of their lackluster wins/notable losses came when their QB’s were hurt.
Not saying that they should be better than their ranking…just that taking that into consideration can shed a different light on Cincy. Actually, I don’t really care…it’s all going to play out on the field and I’m backing our boys all the way!
GO WARRIORS!!!
Woebot: the coaches already know about Cody Paul, they’ve already seen that video…as have most other college programs nation-wide. Not to rain on your parade, but that’s kinda old news. I’m sure many of the Tsai-ko’s haven’t seen it so mahalo for the mention.
Cincy is a bunch of girl scouts with an urban thug mentality. They started the fight and got the snot beaten out of them by Chris Brown, Vince Manuwai and the boys. Bad move to call out the local broddahs! The difference between Cincy and our Rainbow Dancers is our RD got skills. And the RD are better looking too. Okay, if you wanna get specific, the RD don’t smell either. And I’m sure the RD look better in swimsuits. They will fly in, take their lumps and go home.
Oh, and big time up’s on the article about Solly and Adam. The one thing most people don’t realize is that both are even better people than they are football players. Both are genuinely humble, good kids. They leave big shoes to fill, for sure.
Hey Ronnie – IS IT SATURDAY YET?
OK, time to shut down the computer and go home. See ya in a couple of hours. 🙂
Rob25 ~ Good research on the Cincy season game by game. You do make a valid point about their SOS. Isn’t it odd that when it applies to other teams, it’s never mentioned. When our Warriors were making their BCS run, we were pinged for it by everybody on TV except the Muppets!
Hold Stephen back…….he is going Tsaiko!!!!!!!!
Woebat,
That was a good one. In about 10 years will see how good this kid is then we can go after him.
Kekoa
You got mail.
Ok..ok..Miss Piggy might have referred to us as animal rights abusers because of our targeting Kalua pork.
BG
Grutza was out after the Oklahoma loss to a broken leg. Pike came in for Miami and Akron but injured his non throwing arm. Anderson, the freshman, was in for Marshall, Rutgers and part of UConn. It’s been Tony Pike ever since.
Pitt and WV were good wins and Oklahoma was a good loss, but the rest were marginal wins. The freshman QB played against a 4-8 Marshall and Rutgers that was 1-4 before that loss. In the UConn game Pike played half the game.
It is one position and I don’t know how many other significant injuries they may have had on the team. Is this a mostly veteran team?
Saturdays game will be a test of how far we have come throughout the season. Hopefully the boyz are ready because the Kitty Cats are coming here to make a point.
And by the way Kekoa you got mail.
Sorry Kekoa for double posting.
My bad.
Anyone still shaking their head that the Big East officials are supposedly traveling (or traveled) on the SAME plane/flight as the Bearcats?
Something is pilau east of Manoa!!!!!! 👿
That should depend on how they enter OUR field amongst other things.
FACT: That F’N program, fans, and players as a whole does NOT respect our program, people, and culture.
😈
Kazz,
We can always invite the ‘cats to join in our senior celebration. If they stay on the field, fine. I will applaud the senior cats. If not, they can go to the locker room while I applaud our senior Warriors.
Kazz,
Looks like the Kitties are making some friends on that flight. I think there going to need it.
cmon kazz. be nice.
they did that at the volleyball finale last week and i do believe that is done annually also with the basketball team.
no forget….inspite of the fact they are the opponents for the evening, they are somebody’s son.
Let’s be realistic, Tsaikos, Cinci is a very good team, but they are certainly no Florida. Off course our boys have to play very well, there won’t be any room for marginal play or silly errors, but we have a very good chance to win this game, if the Warriors will play the way they’ve practiced this week (Kekoa’s report).
Personally, I really expect a win. I want that feather in our cap.
I have always thought that honoring the opposing team’s seniors is one of the classiest things that we do here. Especially if some of the players were local kids.
There is no way these Big East Officials can be in the same plane if Cincinnati loses the game. They’d be murdered. So something just doesn’t feel right.
I don’t mind recognizing the other team’s seniors…as long as it doesn’t take away from our guys and the recognition is kept as brief as possible….then, yeah, I too think it’s pretty cool.
I wonder if Cinci will be bringing over a lot of fans. That’d be two big trips for their fans in this game and their BCS game. There sure were a lot of Wazoo folks last week.
Flori-dated (that’s the way I always read your name): Our rep within the CFB world has taken a pretty good beating over the course of the past year. A win against a BCS bowl-bound team would really help to show that we shouldn’t be considered a punchline to any mid-major BCS jokes. I was getting pretty tired of those. There’s been some recent recognition that we’re decent and going to a bowl game, but I don’t know about everyone else…I think we’re more than just “decent”. If we play the way we’re capable of playing in all three phases of the game, then we should be leaving the stadium tomorrow night with a win. I’d really like to see it all come together….tomorrow night would be the perfect time.
Al,
As long as they behave on the field and in the stands, everything will be fine.
I have NEVER felt easy about a highly ranked team and some of their fans coming into our house with their noses pointed highly in the air.
Are the Bearcats staying at Turtle Bay or somewhere in Waikiki?
My friend has a theory.
-Visiting teams that stay at Turtle Bay come to play to win due to less distractions out there.
-Visiting teams that stay in Waikiki come to party.
TO ALL THE LURKERS:
WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!
GREEN AND WHITE RULE THE NIGHT!!!!!
I hope the Bearcats do lodge at Turtle Bay and get to experience (pre-game) the big-surf in person… each and everyone of them… body surf baby! 😆
Pound dem Bearcats! 😀 😯 😆
Curveball – My best wishes and prayers to you and your ‘ohana. ((((((Kristin))))))!!!
Kazz: Hardly ground-breaking theory. 😀
I agree with everyone that it’s total BS if the Big East officials are flying with the Bearcats. It’s already bad that it’s a Big East crew working the game. If anything, they should have a non-partisan crew like Pac-10 or Big 12 do the game. Most of them aren’t working since there aren’t that many games happening this Saturday.
You know for sure that the Big East officials have been “highly encouraged” to ensure Cincinnati goes into their BCS bowl game with as high a ranking as possible to avoid further negative commentary on how weak their conference is for a so-called BCS conference.
Well, in my defense I never paid attention to where teams stayed when they came here, but I did always believe that they all come here expecting an easy win.
Except for our conference opponents of course.
I think this is where I differ from most fans that either feel confident we’ll win no matter what or some fans that feel we will loose.
I always just get angry and cynical towards the other team (non-conference opponents) in regards to what they really think of our program, our state, and our people.
I guess I take some gamedays too personally…
HA! I wouldn’t want it any other way!!!
ST – Let me add my kudos to you for your excellent story of “da LB bruddahs!”
Like many other fans, I truly admire Adam Leonard and Solomon Elimimian, as players, student-athletes, team leaders, and role-models. Thank you ST for helping us appreciate them as individuals, and as close friends. 😆
And Thank You! to Adam & Solly for these past few, memorable years. Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors! 😀
PS. And finish school! 😯
Garret, Shannon, las vegas, 702WN, Re: #39 –
Wasn’t rob25 going to be there around then too? Or was that near X-mas? Oh – I suppose you might have to modify your menu if she joins you…. 😀 😯 😆
What happened to diesel? 🙄
I surely hope that these Big East Refs are the last and final parting gift from our dearly beloved Herman Frazier, grrrrrr…..
In my best moke-like voice (which is not, at all) . . .
Eh! Mises Curveball. Geh mo beta mo fasa. Da Warrias neeju fo cheeaum on. Cawz us stay cheeaeng fo you!
Yeah!
Loads of prayers and wishes for you and your family.
Yes, brewman…I will be in there from Dec 29th until Jan 2nd. The kids and I are scheduled to see Mystere on the 30th. Not sure what I’ll be doing the rest of the time. I am looking to maybe hook up with the A House family who will be there also.
Wait…is there a bowl game that UH is in during that time. Only kidding…just funny that so many Tsaikos are going to be there at the same time.
I think that it may be fun to watch a game in a Sports Book on New Year’s Day!
What was I saying before…like I don’t know what to do in that town! Shop, of course.
F-Ted . . .
” . . . dearly beloved . . .”???
I wonder if there is even one person in Hawai’i who supports UH sports that is able to honestly say they miss the buffoon.
After all, when all is said and done, the fact is he remains the worst AD in UH history.
Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!
OK gotta go pick up some forward from soccer practice.
Check in laters…or tomorrow.
GO WARRIORS!!!
Shucks. I will not be in Las Vegas during that time — in Aneheim instead. But, I will be in Las Vegas next Friday through Saturday night. Anyone else there?
Las Vegas (the person) will you be available?
Hey? The refs can party before the game, eh?
Maybe some heavy duty maitais.. a luau… couple of ducolax hangover pills..
wafan – THIS weekend, or NEXT weekend? I think I saw that whitey and mctruck are will be there THIS weekend – altho, the East Texas guy is being bashful. 🙄 😯 😆
Brew . . .
I will be there NEXT weekend.
Tomorrow I have a seven hour meeting. Talk about numb-butt!
wafan…. always gotta be… different…. 🙄 😯 😆
Go Wildcats!
Flay the other ‘cats!
What happened to my comment?
HA! There it is.
I wonder if flay was the concern. Oh well.
The oddities continue.
Yep. That was the word.
Or . . . maybe not.
Okay – I know you guys already discussed the U-Sin-n-See “bearcats” and that a bearcat (civit-cat) is some sort of sloth-like, tree-dwelling mammal. But if you change just one letter, you could readily convince Koakane into becoming a huge, beer-cat fan! 😀 😯 😆
Test – I want to dine at one of chef Bobby Flay‘s restaurants. 😯
No problemo Mr. (soon-to-be) numb-butt! 😆
Why might it “take some time” for my comment to appear? Is there another contest besides the ticket that requires a bleeding?
If I am the only one to donate blood (I did this week when the vampires and leeches came to campus) how can I use the ticket? Does it include r/t airfare from SEA/HNL?
Come on you guys! Bleed a bit!!! That 6″ needle does not hurt once you pass out. Nah. It is not so bad once they strap you onto that table just like they use for lethal injections.
Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
I am not helping, am I. Sorry!
Brew . . .
Better a numb-butt than a butt-head.
Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!
‘course, I have been accused of being both.
😆
Are we sure that koakane isn’t the zookeeper (who) is very fond of rum? 😀
Speaking of which, zebras (that is, referees) are reactionary … 😛
Wasn’t there some sort of mohito party? 😯

Looks like Lingle will have to replace 6 BOR members. I hope they will be replaced by people who are a little more knowledgeable about the conference that UH plays in.
WAFAN, I’m always here, I live here

From what 702WN said, he lives on Oahu now

Not only was he the worst ever in UH history, I think he was the worst in the entire NCAA history.

If I can “bus” in here….
Anyone know the answer to Kazz’ question about where Cincy is staying? Any word on their practices?
They’ve been in town for about 30 hours already and no sightings?
I neva gon wear black shorts to the pool again, the kids kept throwing “Free Willy” raw sardines

brew808: What happened with the Barry Melrose experiment in Tampa? That didn’t last too long … 😛
And … that’s all I know about hockey. I was in a fantasy league one year with friends on the Mainland. Knew very little about hockey, other than what I learned watching SportsCenter and the Mighty Ducks movies as a kid. It was a points league, and I just got beat out for the championship on the last day of the season. All my friends were shocked that I had finished such a close 2nd … 😀
I’m probably the only guy so fat, I was baptized in Sea World
Curveball has returned home with no improvement in Kristin’s status. He remains hopeful, and is just too tired to do much more than eat a little dinner and get some rest.
Good night all.
once I was swimming off of Molokai beach when a State Survey vessel tried to make me the ninth island
continued best wishes to the Curveball family and especially Kristen.
lv – *rim shot* 😀
Who’s Barry Melrose? All I know are the SJ Sharks!!! And I still don’t know anything about hockey! Gotta love the black & teal!!! 😀 😯 😆
I went to the supermarket by myself today and got
myself cereal and lo-fat milk, forgot that I’m lactose intolerant.
on the plus side my innards should be pretty clean by now.
Everything has come out in the past hour.
Isn’t Barry Melrose the 70yo singer on American Idol?
lv – How can the Mrs. not adore you? 😀 Oh yeah, lactose intolerance…. 😀 😯 😆
we have spray clorox, thank god!
even the dogs seemed offended

The media panicked! Global warming!?! Oceanside communities scrambled! People evacuated to high-ground as the oceans level suddenly rose by 4 feet. Fortunately, the crisis subsided once the Tsaiko swim party ended at the beach. 😆
Next, the earthquakes started to build as the Tsaiko volleyball game started…. 😀 😯 😆
Hmmmm, I hope jm2375 can meet las vegas when he’s here in February. I can picture them sitting at Genji’s, both so quiet and shy… 😆
Feature story on Samson’s hair.
The 49ers tried to sneak a WR that Miami liked through waivers, and Miami claimed them. Now they have to face Miami in a little more than a week. If they had waited a few more days, Miami wouldn’t have been able to claim him!
Before this season began, Texas Tech’s AD apparently told Mike Leach he was fine with Leach leaving!
…and brew808 — I had to call in a lot of favors and hire two psychics, but I found out when you will be here for the holidays. I’ve got a karaoke call lined up for you too… 🙂
Looks like USC’s offensive coordinator is getting the Washington job. No wonder there is an article in the Houston Chronicle (the online like doesn’t work yet) that states that Leach is trying to get the Auburn job.
SteveM,
I wasn’t shy, I was in awe!
In addition to the ESPN report in my previous post, the LA Times also has an article about Sarkisian getting the U-Dub job.
By the way, there is an article published that states that Sarkisian is USC’s lead recruiter for Manti Teo.
Kekoa,
Thanks for the update.
Garret,
I kept expecting to hear Norm Chow’s name in the running at UDub, but nothing

las vegas,
U-Dub was apparently not interested in Norm Chow. Norm was probably not that interested in them either. His family is in the LA area and he’s still getting paid big money from Tennessee–any money he earns from some other job just reduces what Tennessee has to pay him.
UCLA was smart to back-load Norm’s contract. So, he earns little now, but once his Tennessee contract ends, he gets paid extra for the following years.
thanks for the info on Chow
las vegas — did you notice brew808’s post #174 and Rob25’s post #177? Coincidence? I wonder who else might be in town at that time…
Interesting to hear that USC offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian might get the Washington job. You would think Washington would want an offensive coordinator who was effective in his job.
no, but I’ll check them out later
looks like th A-House family might be there too
OldDiver,
Pretty funny! Norm Chow was much more effective (in my opinion) as USC’s offensive coordinator than Steve Sarkisian. But I guess U-Dub wanted someone younger…or someone not Norm Chow, as they talked to a lot of other candidates.
With the A-House family, Rob25, Shannon, etc. in Vegas all around the same time, this could make for a good Cattle Call!
Go Bearcats dot com site thanks UC fans for setting a new average attendance record this year of 31,964 🙄

Norm’s wife and kids never moved to Tennessee when he coached there. His wife stayed at their home (I think in Orange County) and his kids were students at USC>

Feature story on Long Beach Poly’s DEs, which of course means a lot of the story is about UH recruit Iuta Tepa.

Of course, there’s Connor Barwin
OK, so lay off the guy. He not making tun-ta-lan, eh.
Eh, Cincy lurkers, no worry about, “What is ‘tun-ta-lan’?”
The rest is stats and game reviews.

btw why you not coming earlier to tgate? I heard the moanalua craft fair is this sat so the school is closed.
LV…Garrett…A-House… you guys still here?
I read some of the posts, looks like a few of us will be in Vegas around the same time… Sounds like we could have a legit “Mini-CC”… and it would actually be my 1st…
koakane…..didn’t you know you just interrupted the garret and d1 chat show?
Only but good thoughts and positive vibes resonate for Sliders’ Grammy.
I’m not going to be there for the pre-game tailgate at all. By the time I get to Aloha Stadium, everyone will be cleaning up — I no like walk down just to walk back up again after. 😛
But yeah, I’m taking a mathematics exam called the Putnam Exam. It’s offered on the first Saturday of December nationally, and it’s really, really, really hard. Twelve problems split over two three-hour sessions, from 8-11 AM and 1-4 PM. Each problem is worth 10 points, but the median is usually single-digits (sometimes zero). Getting 30+ usually means you are one of the top 100 undergraduate mathematicians in the country.
So yeah, I’m taking this exam because I’m crazy. It’s probably going to be a big waste of my time, but I like a good challenge. 😀
Anyways, I’ll be there after the game. Please save me triple chocolate cake. 😛
al was getting to informative for such a late nite crowd and needed some levity
jason you got to lighten up and weigh the situation
two three hour exam vs four hours of fuud your tummy can take
twelve problems vs triple mind you triple chocolate yummy cake.
each problem worth ten points vs each dish worth thousand memories.
no comparison bwhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Jason you get your triple chocolate only if you score better than 80%, about 96 points, so get a good night sleep friday night and wing through the test…
jason could use a brew or two to lighten up.
al: I prefer triple chocolate cake. 😀

ST and everyone else interested in UH’s recruiting:
My Co-worker just told me (about 10 min. ago) that he’s gonna be sending over highlight tapes of his son(s) to UH. They’re known as the Carr brothers, out of Oak Grove High School (11-1) in San Jose, Ca. Oak Grove’s season ended last week in the CCS Semifinals, losing to Valley Christian (10-2) 23-20. Omari is a RB and his twin brother Jabari is a DB. From what he was telling me, Jabari has been getting letters from PAC-10 schools, not too sure about Omari. Google them or look them up on scouting websites… Either one of them, of not both of them, would be a good catch for Hawaii…
*sp: “if not”…
Omar Carr 5’9 170 averaged 176.8 yards per game, 11.31 yards per carry, scored 29 TDs. What division is Oak Grove in?
CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) CCS – Central Coast Section. De La Salle is in the CIF NCS – Northern Coast Section. Other California powerhouses Long Beach Poly, Mater Dei & Mission Viejo are in the CIF SS – Southern Section
Good morning Tsaikos…
What a blowout last night in that Rutgers – Louisville game. Funny how that game and our upcoming game can affect the BcS computer rankings in Florida’s favor. It’s already known that a Hawaii win over Cincy will flip the standings of OU and FL in one computer poll since FL beat Hawaii and OK beat Cincy. Now the computer has to factor in that Hawaii beat Fresno which beat Rutgers. Easy, yeah? What a system.
BCS = Bull Crap System
Jubliant Aloha Friday all!
Tomorrow’s the day!!!
Go Warriors! Flay the ‘cats!
Are you folks kidding? No one wants or needs a ticket to tomorrow’s game between our Warriors and the ‘cats?
10 minutes to do the paperwork. 30-40 minutes to lie down and relax. 15 minutes to sit around to realize there was no logical reason for you to have worried.
Good Morning Tsaikos!!
A quick post before heading out to the airport.
No ask me how old he is cause I no more enough fingers to count that high.

d1shima,
Great job with all of the Cincinnati research! I haven’t had time to look up those articles so I really appreciate you posting them!
Aloha Kakahiaka!

“Anyways, I’ll be there after the game. Please save me triple chocolate cake. 😛 ”
Janon- I did a double take. Thought you said TRIPE chocolate cake… bwahahahah!
Great Morning All!
Nice article about UH’s “Snowflake”. Part of a great Senior class, Nathan McKay. Mahalo for your dedication. Hope his Mom got to come home for his Senior Night.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY G’NALO! 🙂
Garret,
Thanks, but really it wasn’t a lot of research. All that stuff came from Cincy’s 40+ page Game Notes.
ST,
Thank you for highlighting Nathan McKay. Players that can work hard on the scout team for 5 years without getting the recognition that comes with playing time really give their time and body up for the team. I’m glad that Nathan got a little bit of the spotlight with your article.
I also enjoyed the article yesterday with Sol and Adam. UH fans will really miss them next year…UH has a LOT of solid LBs on their roster and has a lot of great recruits in the 2008 and 2009 classes that will have good careers, but Sol and Adam set a really high standard for them to live up to as true student-athletes.
d1shima,
That is why I’m thankful that both Heeia Elementary and King Intermediate tried out speed reading programs with their students for one year each and I was lucky enough to be picked for both of them. If I couldn’t speed read, I couldn’t read all the stuff that I do for both work and fun.
Google reader+Google search+speed reading work really well together!
My Dad and Mom can read the blog ever since we fixed up their computer when we visited Hawaii. Yesterday he asked me “When do you work?” since he saw I was blogging at different times of the day. Good thing I got everything done that I was supposed to do yesterday…or my boss and/or President would have killed me!
20% chance of rain tomorrow night, I hope not!!
Garret,
Had to laugh at the comment from your Dad. Once a teacher, always a teacher, eh? 😆
HiHo…
Ball State turns down Humanitarian Bowl. Wow. WAC gets some love, but no mention of UH.

Jason,
“Putnam?” Like the “Man on Putnam Hill” from HG WELL’s ‘War of the Worlds’? Mr. Futility? The King Pessimist?
What an appropriate name for that test.

Jason – in order for us to save you a piece of cake, 2 things must happen:
1) you WILL be NICE to me all day today. 😆
2) you will have to fend off WDoc and her sweet tooth!!
See what happens when you don’t come to a t-gate? hehehehe
ST was on L&L this morning early (6:30ish). Pops asked him about bb recruiting being on “life support”. He dodged that bullet well and deferred to the beat writer.
Good morning Tsaikos…have to esme again today….
Happy B day to gnalo…wow, turning 30 today huh???
Liz…Tripe chocolate cake is something Rob 25 would really like…LMAO….
