Hawaii football adds junior college quarterback Armani Edden
While Chevan Cordeiro remains as the presumptive No. 1 passer, the Rainbow Warriors have added depth — and competition — to the quarterbacks’ room.
Armani Edden, a multi-skilled passer from College of the Canyons (Santa Clarita, Calif.) is set to join the Warriors this summer. His pledge — on Twitter and then to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser — comes a month after Jake Farrell made a commitment to the Warriors. Farrell played high-school ball at Notre Dame Prep in Arizona, then spent the past season at East Coast Prep, a post-graduate school in Great Barrington, Mass.

That brings the number of QBS to six, and helps balance out the classes.

Here’s the skinny on Edden:
> He’s 6 feet, 180 pounds, and capable of sprinting 40 yards in 4.58 seconds.
> COC uses the run-and-shoot as a base offense, with three-, four- and five-receiver sets, with single, dual and no backs.
> In 12 games last season, his first with COC, Edden threw for 3,044 yards (on 63.7% accuracy) and 27 touchdowns. He also rushed for 227 yards and six TDs.
> He will be reunited with COC teammate, Alonzell “Zelly” Henderson, a JC All-America receiver who previously committed to UH.
> Edden is from Florida, where he was a two-sport standout at Palm Beach Central High. He was the combo guard on a team whose center was John Collins, now a power forward with the Atlanta Hawks.

# 2 and #4 — many of us ‘die hard fans’ are still hoping for a football season — would not mind a trip to Arizona — never been there.
now, where are all the OL , DL, and secondary recruits? or, is the basket full of replacements?
ESPN predicts a 5-8 season for Hawaii; all wins at Aloha Stadium. New coaching staff; new schemes; no spring ball; tough schedule, both home and away. All adds up to a losing season.
This is a great pick up! The more the merrier, cream will rise!

I get why you are against us having a winning season, but Hawaii does have some versatility that could make a splash with the returners coming back from offense and defense. Keep in mind, too, Todd Graham’s got good accolades with his career coaching. He did say that he was impressed with our program beating two Pac-12 teams in the 2019 season, and it did seem to think that maybe there’s still hope for our program to have our voice be heard. When he was Tulsa’s HC, his memory with Hawaii definitely probably was his brightest moment as a coach. Todd Graham’s first year as HC in Rice, Tulsa, Pitt, and Arizona State all have been good seasons. Wouldn’t be surprised if he were to make some magic here with the ‘Green H and Tapa Trim’ and get his first year here to a bowl game.
Of course, yes, this year’s schedule is a toughie, but I think Hawaii could be in position to make some pivotal upsets and maybe, get our program back on the map.
Look at this way, with all the coronavirus talk that’s been still on high alert, I think it’s a matter of how we regroup and focus ahead into the season. There’s a possibility we could have fall practice right before the season opener against Arizona on the road. It’s not our football program that is majorly screwed due to the coronavirus panic. It’s affected every power 5 and non-power 5 schools off their football programs.
What I think is of major concern is if the WVB and football programs can attract multiple filled crowds to make up for the damage the coronavirus did to the spring sports by halting sports that haven’t either gotten into conference play or aren’t halfway into the season. We’re fighting for life support right about now with our programs and we need to figure out how to fix this.
I see 7 QB’s listed rather than six.
If everything was normal; UH had a spring practice to get the new staff to impart their personality, style, scheme, etc., then I would have predicted an eight-win season. But with no spring practice and who knows how much time, if any, the team will have to put it all together in fall practice, I agree with ESPN’s assessment. I’ll take five wins for this season as a success.

all teams are in the same situation as UH with no practices, etc — therefore, I see a level ground
be creative coaching staff and hope for early release from the COVID-19 restrictions — perhaps allowance of up to 15 people per group which will allow offense and defense to work out — if only 10 max, use 10 players and then substitute as necessary such a platooning the entire front 5 or the entire 10 with no RB

Col i understand. But you going to Vegas after your annual migration to the north country. Apparently there is choke sockeyes and pinkies. Should be fun this year. This year going try crabbing for dungies and see if I can catch a legal size Ling Cod. Also try for a 45-50 lb halibut.

co-worker is going in mid-August, but they only go into the river and rent a private residence
2 years ago, son and I had to throw back a 92# and 75# halibut because too large — another lady in our boat also threw back 60-70#er
hope you catch a TON of fish and d-=crabs — we usually set nets one day and catch a lot — so ono da fresh d-crabs!!! also set nets for shrimp — BIG kine, but me no can eat because of allergy — others were eating them fresh as they came out of the cages!! — then, lodge deep fries the heads for pupu that night — can only watch and drool

Maybe Hawaii’s first game will be against the Oregon Ducks. That would make it a 10-game season, same as the Ivy League. Will UH refund me for the first two lost home games?

Perused 247sports and noticed another addition – TE Tyler Carr
(6-4/260) is transferring from Texas Tech to join the Warriors immediately. He played as a fullback and blocking tight end. Last season he played in three games on special teams. He is a graduate transfer and should be a redshirt junior.
