Hawaii women’s volleyball: Congrats to Rika Okino, UH’s student engineer of the year
My apologies for the lateness on this.
Rika Okino, the Wahine starting libero last season, has earned the Hawaii Council of Engineering Societies (HCES) Student Engineer of the Year Award for 2020. She is graduating this May with a degree in civil engineering.
The Kalani High valedictorian has been a UH Scholar-Athlete the past four years and was an All-Big West academic selection in 2019.

Wow–she is amazing! Congratulations!
yes, she has been amazing. walking on and then becoming a starter shows that she worked really hard and it paid off for her. wish she would come back for her fourth year. she can really help the bows. she definitely was one of the reasons the team was so successful this year. congrats to her for a job well done. Rika you will have a great and successful life and career. We need more Rikas playing for UH teams.
Wow! Impressive in every way. Congrats! How is that even possible when you are a starter on a Div I team?
A great achievement Rika. Congrats… I can see why she wouldn’t play another year since I assume she was not on scholarship and would have to foot the whole cost of another year.
Terrific accomplishment! Nice way to end her collegiate experience. Congratulations to Rika!
Again, congratulations to Okino
