Hawaii football: JoJo Ward receives Hula Bowl invitation
The Warriors’ best deep threat — right wideout JoJo Ward — has been invited to play in the new version of the Hula Bowl in January.
Ward leads the UH regulars in yards per catch (14.9). He also has a team-high six catches of 25-plus yards. Seventeen of his 28 receptions have resulted in first downs. Ward has six TD catches.
Hula Bowl director Rich Miano said Ward was an easy choice because of his “ability to run linear. He’s extremely fast. He can get high-option balls. He’s tough over the middle.”
Miano added: “I think he’s a legitimate prospect to continue to play this game. At what level remans to be seen.”
UH rush end Kaimana Padello, right slotback Cedric Byrd and cornerback Rojesterman Farris II were previously extended invitations to the bowl.
The Rainbow Warriors arrived in Boise this morning in advance of Saturday’s game against 14th-ranked Boise State.
The Warriors had a walk-through session this afternoon at a local high school.
Beat the Donks !
“So you have to ask yourself, “Is this the year? Is this the year? You better BELIEVE this is the year!!!”
Go Warriors!
Beat Boise!
[Pomai]: THIS is the year!
Us guyz- 54, Dem guyz- 10
Overall: 5-1
MW (West): 2-0
Pac-12 (Far West): 2-1
Homecoming: 3-0
The blue field is really a distraction and an advantage, even if slight, for the home team. Yet, most any visiting team would not admit, rather seeking to believe in their own abilities. Remember when Colorado State painted the visiting locker room pink? I think it was in the Wagner era. Still, this UH team has a good chance of coming home with a victory because they are playing well on both sides of the ball, hopefully Metzkell gets out of his funk, and the coaching staff is maturing along with the team. More over, they beat two Pac 12 teams to prove their level of competitiveness. Additionally, the team has depth in terms of playing time and talent. And finally, with a young O line playing so well, what do you do with Eletise when he’s available?
I found an appropriate song for the Broncos. It is as follows:
“Blue on Blue
Bobby Vinton
Blue on blue, heartache on heartache
Blue on blue now that we are through
Blue on blue, heartache on heartache
And I find I can’t get over losing you…”
We’ll just change the last line to…”And I find I can’t get over losing (to) you”
Good morning gangeez! Great news for the Warriors!
