Hawaii women’s volleyball: Wahine dish on long road trip
Nearly two weeks spent in close quarters on a road trip with anyone can make you a little loopy by the end.
The Hawaii women’s volleyball team, though, was able to get through its four-game swing through the Baylor Classic and the first week of Big West play on the mainland mostly intact.
No. 11 UH (12-1, 2-0 Big West) went 3-1, losing only to now-No. 1 Baylor, the only undefeated team in the country.
Libero Rika Okino, hitter McKenna Ross and coach Robyn Ah Mow talked to local media about the lengthy trip and returning for matches against UC Irvine (Friday) and Cal State Fullerton (Saturday) this weekend. There is also the Wahine alumnae match preceding the Fullerton match at 4:30.

Normally, Cindy Luis would be doing this interview. Does this mean Cindy is moving on and Brian is taking over women’s volleyball? Brian also wrote an article on Wahine volleyball a week ago or so.
No, Cindy is our volleyball beat writer. I’m contributing a little bit of everything as it pertains to UH these days.
I love the dreads look of RAM!!! Pretty kewl! Good job Brian! GO BOWS!
Happy for Rika’s “senior” season. She had to wait….patiently and now getting significant PT and contributing to the team’s success.
Go Wahine !!!
