Hawaii freshman Ilihia Huddleston was named to the AVCA high school beach all-America eight-member first team today.
She is the younger sister of Hi’ilawe, who finished her four-year career with the SandBows last season.

Huddleston is the 10th prep All-American for Hawaii since the awards began in 2014. She is also the third first-team honoree in the last four years, joining Kylin Loker (2018) and Morgan Martin (2016).

Huddleston, a member of 692 West Beach Volleyball Club, won a number of tournaments including first at the CBVA tournament, first at the BVCA National Championship, and went undefeated at the AVPFirst. She earned third in the AAU National Championships and fourth in the USAV Jr. National Championships.

From her coach Jeff Smith, 692 West:

“I have been coaching Ilihia since the fourth grade and it’s absolutely been an amazing journey to watch her grow as a player. She has worked hard over the last nine years and has become one of the best players in SoCal. She is laid back off the court, very genuine, and embraces her Hawaiian culture in such a positive light. However, during a match she becomes ultra-competitive and has a win-at-all-cost mentality. It’s fun to watch her play and she’s going to do great things at the University of Hawai’i. She has made me a better coach! Mahalo Ilihia!”
