Predictions? UH 56 OSU 28
[Pomai]: Us guyz 45, Dem guyz 38
Let’s take care of the football on Saturday…. .
No mercy. I’ll bury the hatchet after a WIN!!
51-30
I honestly believe the smaller quicker defensive front for the Warriors will put pressure on QB and penetrate the Beaver Ol. I look for the bigs to clog the inside effectively. They for sure will physicallly know they played the Warriors per Coach Ricky! Paul Scott will come under control and make some big plays! GoWarriors!!!
ss Kenji Suzuki commits to UH baseball, for 2020. See article in paper today. Part Japanese.
UH 45 OSU 31
Hawaii 38 Oregon St 27
I hope Padello runs amok around and through Kipper!
Go Warriors!
We win!
Pomai….. Hawaii 35 …. OSU ……23
Pomai! In case you forgot from 8/29, 52-21, us.
Kimpira!
Hold on to da rock like it’s a money bag!
Kai Kaneshiro? Braddah had a pick vs Arizona. Ford is still slow and is caught out of position at times.
Izzy:
hey, there! long time no post [ #3 ], but glad to see you on board again!!!
wafan: you going to the Udub game? i believe Tom K still has seats available — our group has about 1/2 of all the seats in his section!
J-Dog:
that was a ‘big’ stretch for Kai — looked like a receiver diving for the ball!
remember those days of past when both papers used a lot of page space to cover the ‘arrival’ of the other teams?
yep, don’t really care if they arrived or not!
Since I am retired and lurk on the blog everyday, I will track the score predictions until we are not victorious (yeah, sour grapes). Here are my rules for declaring the winner:
1) There are no prizes (yet 😉 )
2) Predictions posted by 10:00 am on game day.
3) Closest score to the actual wins (over and under both counted). In case of tie, closest UH score wins.
Here’s what we have so far:

Looking forward to the D not having to play contain and getting after the OSU qb. I believe the OSU D will blitz right off the bat in an effort to pressure Cole. They’ve looked at the tapes and they know Cole and Chevan will clean the field and steal their girlfriends if not pressured. ‘Zona tried everything. Started with even front and soon went to odd. Dropped 8 and blitzed from time to time in an effort to mix things up. They were not very successful. OSU’s D-line is not good (opinion from watching the game with Ok St) and has little depth. OSU had to blitz to get pressure and OK St eventually went around the blitzes with swing passes and bubble screens and broke big plays. After the first qrtr, the OSU D-line was done. That 370+ lb dt wasn’t collapsing the pocket or making plays.
Looking for another quick start and a win going away (for a change).
SteveM: Kekoa is still at 56-13 and I’m pulling for 59-24

Found this on “Beaverblitz.com”. Anyone know this guy, Jackson Moore. There was more to his “analysis”, but the stuff below caught my attention. I am trying to be understanding that these blog creators want to provide juicy tidbits to boost readership, but he really should not resort to innuendo while doing some creative writing about Rolo, the staff, and the team. Not very good as an “analyst” either.
“Today we welcome Jackson Moore from WarriorSportsNetwork.com who will get us ready for the Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors.
BB: How big of a statement game is this for Coach Rolovich after the recruiting snafu a year ago?
JM: The Hawaii fan base is already excited about this game, facing a Pac-12 team – especially one that comes to the Islands to recruit regularly.
Coach Rolovich is one of the interesting characters of college football and he jumped all over the opportunity to turn Oregon State’s recruiting snafu into a social media stunt. He’ll also look to make a statement against some of his former assistants on the Oregon State staff. You can believe that Rolo already has some Tweets drafted up to send out in the event that UH wins.
BB: What does Oregon State need to do in order to beat Hawaii on Saturday night?
JM: Oregon State needs to play a well-rounded game. Hawaii is a very beatable team, but you have to attack with both an offense that can take advantage of UH’s defense, plus have a defense strong enough to slow down the UH offense.
UH is happy to light up the scoreboard against a weak defense and play in a shootout if needed. If they take on strong defense and weak offense, they can put up enough points to get the ‘W’ as well.
Based on Oregon State’s defensive performances in 2018 and 2019, the Beavers will need to have a lights-out offensive performance and match the UH offense blow for blow – and win the turnover and big-play battles to make the difference.”
I’ve seen some other talking heads push out the same line as Jackson Moore. One stated that ‘Zona’s 5.6 yd/carry was good reason that OSU could control the game. What these dingbats don’t do is look closely at the stats they use. If they took out Khalil Tate’s scramble yards, the rest of the ‘Zona running attack (which led the PAC 12 the last two yrs) only had 19 attempts for 28 yds. Heck, they had 3 whole rushing yds total for their 3 initial series (3 and out). I would pee my pants if the OSU qb could run like Tate. Current fear factor…1.5 on a scale of 5 with 5 being the highest. Just to be sure, I will take a couple of extra Old Futs Bladder Control Underpants.
How cool was it to watch the Wahine v Army volleyball last night? Army played with such discipline, energy, and prior planning! Hawaii was just clearly the more talented team. I was trying to imagine myself going up to Ana Oglivie after she grads and saying, “Congratulations Ma’am.” Nah, gotta at least make major first 🙂
42. J.J. Taylor had 67 net yds on 14 carries for Arizona in the UH game.
Islandman, you are correct. I looked at the wrong column (Long Gain) at CBSSports.com.
The correct data was:
Tate 13 carries for 108
Taylor 14 carries for 67
Wiley 3 carries for 3
Tillford 1 carry for 1
Cunningham 1 carry for -1
Without Tate, 19 carries for 70 net yds.
Still not a dominating run game by ‘Zona.
Whatever Marshall did on defense to Boise seemed to work they just couldn’t put up enough points.
islandman: So adamant about his promotion, and then he strikes out in his first two at-bats.
CtD – it’s a good time to be called up. If you don’t produce in the middle of the season you get sent down, but right now the Rays will keep him for the rest of the month.
UH – OSU 52 – 34
burro sabio: Clearly, Coach Les was the better coach. But what an anomaly, right? If everybody was healthy, you would have six of Coach Trapasso’s guys in the bigs simultaneously. I’m trying to figure that one out. (Six, if you want to count Kyle Dowdy.) And before his injury, Quintin Torres Costa was close. Not to mention, Jackson Rees and Dylan Thomas are having early success in the low A’s. Plus, you had Almadova, Hee, Lopez, and Catricala in spring training.
That is the justification for keeping Mike Trapasso. Making the post-season is priority number 1A(academics is priority number 1). But getting guys into “The Show” is pretty important, too.
Happy birthday to the Blogmeister and his better half!
GO WARRIORS!!
Watching a possible Army upset of Michigan. Army is a tough opponent!
2 seconds left…Army attempting a 50 yard field goal to win!
Dang it!….Wide right! ….overtime!
Does anyone know how to watch the game on Facebook it says broken
UH 56 OSU 24. 2-0
with a great OL any run-of-the-mill QB can look very impressive — story line is make OL recruiting # 1 priority!
defense wins championships — if so, DL must be #1 recruiting on the chart.
jus wastin time before going
Game day- Go Warriors!!!
Our section 12 regulars seem to think that UH can cover. Just judging from video from Arizona game and some video of Oregon St it seems we have some advantages in certain matchups. Section is filling up now. Should be bigger crowd than Arizona game. Let’s go Warriors.
