Hawaii women’s volleyball: Rainbow Wahine get first oral commitment for 2021
According to Twitter, the Rainbow Wahine have a 2021 oral commit from Mia Johnson who plays for Houston Stellar.
Just putting the year down makes me feel old.
She’s an all-around player from Clear Falls High in League City, Texas.
Listed as a 6-0 OH.
#hawaiiwvb receives their first c/o ‘21 commitment and it’s a verbal commit from @miatavis31, a 5’11 OH out of the Houston area.
During the past club season, Johnson was named the MVP of the 16 USA Division and also took home a gold medal in club https://t.co/uYxH5puGiy

Nikki Taylor’s brother Josh (Punahou/Pepperdine) is the new interim coach at Missouri. He has been an assistant there for the past two seasons. His wife is Molly Kreklow, who also has been an assistant for the Tigers. Molly’s uncle is Wayne, the longtime Missouri head coach. His wife has been the DOVO.
Hawaii plays Missouri Sept. 21 at Baylor tournament.
That’s the 3rd recruit from Texas the last two years. For 2020, the Wahine has commits from setter Kate Lang of Keller, Texas and Libero/DS Georgia Via from Frisco, Texas. I like it. Congrats to coaching staff.
Early commit. Great ! Robyn and staff have their eyes upon Texas.
Is this a ;egit 2021 commit?

Meant “legit”.
Sorry……looks like a 2020 commit….and not a 2021 commit.
CL, we all do …
RAMS filling roster w/ high VBIQs players so it seems.
I would like to inject some height in there if we’re getting players from Texas.

6. It’s Robyn Ah Mow, no longer married.
30” vertical….hit a heavy ball…MVP of a national tournament…team won gold. Sound like winner to me.
Mia looks kind of similar to Riley Wagoner. Wagoner was the MVP of a tournament a couple of years ago and turned into the Gatorade POY in Ohio.
Mia probably would be the Gatorade POY in Texas but have similar accomplishments to that of Wagoner.
^^^…I meant to say that Mia probably won’t win Gatorade POY….
When is the 1st day of practice for the season ?
