Hawaii football: Summer workouts heating up

It’s not like the Hawaii football team is jumping through hoops during player-run training.

But they are sprinting around hoops, as well as hopscotching ladders, dragging heavy chains, pushing weighted sleds, and dashing in every direction.

The player-run participation increases with the arrival of incoming freshmen who are enrolled in the bridge program — two three-credit summer courses that jump-start their academic standing.

Nice to see the Warriors putting in the work. And that QBs leading by example. Nice pics!

Looking for Kohl to have a great year and get drafted. Would be nice too if Thomas becomes the edge threat we all hoped he would be.

    Dol:

his position is listed as a PG, but highlights show, IMHO, a very selfish player who constantly runs the full court to score — only once, did i see him pass off to a team mate for a score

he does not “pass-off” to team mates — it’s only give me the ball and i will score

    UH should NOT pursue

I’m sure others will have a very different opinion and that’s good.

    8. Who needs to pass off, if you can score at will. He is also a SF.
Anyway, Wur’s highlights also had very few places where he passed to someone else.

Unfortunate for us here and maybe the whole Big West. But not unexpected though. On to plan B. That “missing piece” is somewhere waiting to fit onto this kind of roster. Top to bottom so much variety. Going be awesome soon enough. You can see it. Just a matter of time.

I think Avea just needs to work on his finger/hand strength and dexterity, would make him twice as explosive. His approach going to the basket is too “finesse” because he doesn’t palm the ball well. Fix that and develop a reliable bank shot then he will be able to attack at all different angles. Backdoor passes from him would be open “all day” too. Would be more like Fotu’s game but in Valdes’ body. Would be awesome. Can do.
