Hawaii football: All in the ohana
The Hawaii football family is expanding this summer as the sons of former Rainbow Warriors. As previously announced, wideout Jaden Allen (son of former running back Gary Allen), and defensive end Kalanikau Kamakawiwo‘ole and linebacker Kila Kamakawiwo‘ole (twin sons of former UH edge rusher Kila Kamakawiwo‘ole) are joining as preferred walk-ons.
“I’m loving it,” Gary Allen said. “We’re all excited. My wife, my daughter, my son, we can’t wait to see him get out there and get him going.”
Father-son Warriors have become a family tradition. Among the other pairings:
> Defensive tackle Cliff Laboy — defensive end Travis LaBoy
> Defensive lineman Tom Tuinei — safety Tumua Tuinei
> Linebacker Alvis Satele — linebacker Brashton Satele, defensive end Liko Satele
> Center Jesse Sapolu — center London Sapolu
> Offensive lineman Jim Donovan — linebacker/safety Josh Donovan
> Offensive/defensive tackle Agenhart Ellis Jr. — linebacker Agenhart Ellis III
> Linebacker Jimmy Higgins — quarterback Jeremy Higgins, linebacker Parker Higgins
> Safety Mark Kafentzis — safety Landon Kafentzis, linebacker Tyson Kafentzis
> Wide receiver Henry Noa — linebacker Kilinahe Noa, wideout Kumoku Noa
> Quarterback Mike Stennis — receiver Sean Stennis
> Offensive tackle Hauoli Wong — center Naia Wong
> Running back Boyd Yap — defensive end Beau Yap

Gary Allen said he still stays in touch with former teammates. Allen is part of a group led by Rick Nakashima, a business owner and former UH track coach, who rent a bus that takes former Warriors to road games at UNLV, Fresno State and San Diego State. The group also helped arrange the funeral for Wilbert Haslip, who died earlier this year.
Yep, it true that the Cliff and Travis spell their last names differently.
Good one at number 1. Good morning Tsaikos
Howzit everyone! Glad to see the sons of former Bows carrying on their father’s traditions.
Awesome Warrior bloodlines – building the great Warrior culture for UH Football!
