Warrior Beat: Cole McDonald, Kaimana Padello to represent Hawaii football
Quarterback Cole McDonald and rush end Kaimana Padello will be the Warriors’ representatives at the Mountain West Football Media Days in July, coach Nick Rolovich confirmed today.
The event features two players and the head coach from each of the 12 Mountain West teams. It will be held July 23 and 24 at the Green Valley Ranch Las Vegas. The Warriors will be among the West Division players who will have sessions with the media on July 23. The Mountain Division players are set for July 24.
In his first season as a UH starter, McDonald threw for 3,875 yards (eighth among NCAA passers) and 36 TDs (sixth) while computing a 146.5 efficiency rating, the highest for a UH QB since Bryant Moniz in 2010.
Padello is an elite edge rusher who made 56.3 percent of his tackles in the backfield.

It was an event that did not go viral.
The UH football coaches and staff yesterday participated in an escape-room challenge at Breakout Waikiki.
Rolovich was part of the team that bested two other groups in “saving the world” from a “viral” outbreak. Rolovich credited video coordinator Oli Vea, who moonlights as a code breaker, for leading the escape and foiling a potentially devastating plot.
“It was Dr. Mortimer’s evil plan to exterminate the human race,” Rolovich said of the live-action adventure game. “Basically, we saved the world from a deadly virus. … If anybody sees any of our team members, we deserve a mahalo and salute for saving the world.”
Good morning
Looks like Rolo is letting his hair and beard grow out. Lots of white in the beard.
Toid!
Great choices for team reps! Gonna be fun to watch them play this year!
GO WARRIORS!!!
BTW – Thanks for saving the world, coaches. We appreciate you!
Gonna be in town for AZ head to Wa for that one and finally take in UNLV.
While Dr. Kenneth Mortimer did not have an evil plan to exterminate the human race, he did eliminate the School of Public Health, obtained autonomy for UH, and hired June Jones. Kudos.
#6 – do not get me started on the elimination of the School of Public Health. Did you know that he considered getting rid of JABSOM before he turned the tables on SPH?
DPK. long time no see. Just plodding along and happy to see daylight each morning.

Yep, I think a public university needs a public health department.
There is an Office of Public Health Studies at UH which “offers specializations in epidemiology, health policy and management, Native Hawaiian and Indigenous health, and social and behavioral health sciences.
Degrees offered include the bachelor of arts (BA), master of public health (MPH), master of science (MS) in public health, and doctor of philosophy (PhD).”
It’s under the School of Social Work:
The Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work is comprised of the Department of Social Work, the Center on Aging, and the Office of Public Health Studies.
Better to die of old age before comes to Hawaii…
Hmmm…al gore’s rhythm left out the word,
I typed in, aboola…
Maddog50:
when you going “hit town”? maybe attend the Tsaiko tailgate at Cabana A on 8/24/2019?
any plans to attend the Oregon State game on 9/7/2019?
#7 – so are you saying that Kenneth Mortimer is Doctor Semi-Evil? But at least he hired JJ. Has to count for something.
