Mililani lineman Tuatagaloa commits to Hawaii football
Mililani High lineman Jake Tuatagaloa told the Star-Advertiser he has accepted a 2020 football scholarship offer from the Warriors. The skinny:
> Tuatagaloa is 6-2 and 305 pounds. He plays offensive guard and on the defensive line. He projects to compete as an O-lineman for the Warriors.
> He suffered a foot injury that will keep him out of football camps this month. But he said he should be fully healthy for the start of Mililani’s 2019 football season.
> He made his commitment after participating UH’s “Junior Day” yesterday. He said he will sign with the Warriors on Dec. 18, the first day of the early signing period for NCAA football prospects.
> Mililani head coach Rod York: “First of all, he’s a great kid. We had him in our program since he was in the seventh grade. His biggest strength is his footwork and his quickness. He’s deceiving because he’s a big kid, but he’s actually pretty athletic.”
> His father, Ace Tuatagaloa, was an All-State defensive lineman at Leilehua. The elder Tuatagaloa is now coaching at Mililani.
> Tuatagaloa is UH’s third 2020 pledge, following linebacker/end Ezra Evaimalo of Kamehameha School and receiver Tamatoa Mokiao-Atimalala of Campbell High.

can you confirm that Laloulu and 2 other Hawaii players committed to Oregon coaches this past weekend?
so said KITV sports last night.
good start
A-House
Laloulu tweeted his Oregon commitment, I think. But you never know if it’s over until it’s over. He seemed to have a good relationship with the UH coaches, from what I could observe at the UH camp on Saturday. He’s a large human being.
On another note, I was looking at Ilm Manning the other day, and I was thinking, if I were a pass rusher, how would I get past him.
And then I thought … and thought … and figured I’d end up looking skyward while the doctor asked me how many fingers he was holding up.
Watched his video – looks like Warriors got a good one. Happy he chose to stay home.
With Ilm Manning fixed at left tackle, I hope he is being looked at right tackle. Speaking of tackles, any update on Michael Eletise?
Way to go Jake! Heal up and have a great senior year.
THERE ARE TWO CATEGORIES OF GUYS WHO GO AWAY, ANDEN XFR BACK TO U.H….GUYS WHO MAKE THE U.H. ROSTER, ANDAWUNS WHO TAKE MEDICAL RETIREMENT. I TEENK ELETISE MIGHT BE ONE OF THOSE INDA LATTER CATEGORY. HOPE NOT.
IF THOSE INDA LATTER CATEGORY EAT UP A SCHOLARSHIP BY ENROLLING AT U.H. B4 TAKING A MEDICAL RETIREMENT, THAT WOULD MEAN THE PREVIOUS SCHOOL, WHICH THEY LEFT, WAS VERY ASTUTE IN ANTICIPATING THAT THS WOULD HAPPEN…AND KICKED THEM OUT.
…BUT DON’T QUOTE THE SCHOOLS INVOLVED ABT IT.
Mahalo for being a Warrior, Jake!
If you build a great program, they will come!
GO WARRIORS!!!
H-Man
He has been cleared, or so I’ve been told.
I think incoming frosh Mose from St Louis can be a good R/T
Need depth at all positions. Players have a habit of running out of eligibility in the blink of an eye.
So much depth on O-line, linebacking and safety, I think there will be some surprises at the opening game v Arizona.
More offers – from MWC news …
OL Leke Asenuga was offered by Hawaii
WR Dezhaun Stribling was offered by Hawaii
RB Ikaika Ragsdale was offered by Hawaii
WR Dezhaun Stribling was offered by Hawaii ..
WR. 6’2. 190. Kapolei
Don’t let Shane Kady get away. Keep on him.
People much smarter than me — which is most people — tell me the majority of the 2020 class will be from Hawaii.
Whoa!
Buy local!
#madeinhawaii
#priderock
Personally, I just want the best athletes from anywhere. To have a solid local foundation is always a basic need, but we need the best available athletes who want to be here to rep da 808!
Go Warriors!
ST:
your #17 is most interesting — wonder how many will be listed as the top 15 – 21 local players?
so far, 3 in the pot!! besides ‘rocks’ they can use carrots, potato, beans, celery, tomato, etc!
also, must agree with haka — get the very best available!
Just checking in
every year same old story. looking good for UH but what has changed strategy wise—— NOTHING MUCH BUT PROVE ME WRONG!!
That “prove me wrong” stuff is the kind of weak stuff that fills the bandwagon with landfill fanship. The emotionally weak seek the “out” to an end not to their satisfaction so they can create a “win win” situation for themselves, whatever the outcome. You’ve got to own it to be winning.
Warrior football has returned to being fun. The product on the field is entertaining. Just hoping the stadium gets with the program by improving the concession food and bring back the upper level end zone concession stands.
