After watching the Oklahoma vs Army condensed game I’m hoping that Coach Rolo will find a use for an H/FB like Oklahoma uses (#45 6-5 254 Big 12 second team) in some packages. As FB #45 sealed the edge on some inside runs, was also lead blocker through the hole and second level blocker on others. He also released and ran routes short middle. As “H” #45 pulled on inside runs and as a rolling pass protector on roll outs. Was also involved in the vertical pass game as well. Lincoln Riley is hailed as an offensive “genius”

UH has several candidates if a FB/H is a package option. Furuta as FB was already in use on short yardage last year. Keliiliki would be a natural as “H” (maybe his NFL position more than FB or RB). Imagine the possibilities. I kind of felt like Dakota’s versatility was wasted last season. I don’t blame the offensive staff though, hard to implement sophistication in the first year. But with all the different weapons and varying styles and skills the possibilities are endless. We (fans) will see just how creative (or not) this staff can be. There is no reason why Hawaii can’t be the “group of five’s” offensive equivalent (to Oklahoma), especially with improved O-line play. Innovation. We’ll see. Can’t wait for Spring Ball.

Rolo had one – Dakota Torres.

Our genius off. staff “wasted” Dakota’s senior year. smh.

They also could have used Torres and Sharsh as bigger slots,

in relief of our smaller slots, who were taking a beating.

but, what do I know I’m just a FANatic.

I was hoping the Coaching staff would have used Kaiwi Chung at FB position last season. One of the strongest players on the team, excellent blocking ability and could have gotten the team short yardage gains when we really needed it.
