    46. I am not deleting posts. since you are a new user, your posts went into pending. After I finished my story, I had time to come back to the blog and found them. I did delete the three that were the same.
you should be good to go from now on. Thanks for dropping in.

  48. Bleachercoach September 28, 2018 10:47 pm

3-0 …Thankful! Sloppy overall, but we have better talent than Fullerton who has tons of walk-on on the team. Not to get ahead of this year, but spent some time looking at the recruits from Louisiana, Canada, and Sweden on tape.
Oh boy , we are going to be loading up with some heavy guns next year. This year is the calm before incoming storm. Lets all hang in there gang. From what I have seen especially from one girl who possess Heather Bowen ( former U.H.All American/Olympics) power, the Robyn/Angelina and staff machine is going to be just fine in next coming years
Got to give them time to their own recruiting. Normally takes 3-4 years before you can establish your own recruits. For Now, Lets Go Bows!!

  49. menehune September 29, 2018 3:28 am

    Great win, Wahine.
Just a few thoughts…Kamalei is quicker on her feet than Liva on blocks to the pins and should get more playing time; Castillo’s arm swing is faster and she’s hitting the ball harder and Granato should be rotated out after serving; Ross is a better back row passer.
    Jus sayin.
    LET’S GO BOWS.

  50. setaone September 29, 2018 7:21 am

    49. Agree with getting Granato out after serving (especially since the pipe set isn’t a part of the offense), but with Gaskin/Maafala and Castillo/Okino, they would seem to run out of subs pretty quickly.

Castillo showed some extra confidence last night. She was hitting at a high contact point.

  51. Sheila September 29, 2018 7:53 am

#49 Agreed certainly about Krug’s blocking and Ross/Granato rotation. Need to cut down unforced service errors (Rika & Granato) meanwhile maintaining offensive serves. Unlike Norene, Granato’s tips rarely find open floor behind block. I guess need to mix up with roll over shots to open floor in baseline area too, not allowing defense to settle in. Hope these adjustments tried out today to compete against next week very strong opponents. Good progress on each match and kudos!

  52. Astroboy September 29, 2018 11:18 am

Anyone know what is up with the 5-minute break? They said they were doing this pre-season, but now it looks like it is happening during conference play as well. This will cut out the ability to have between-set contests, which might hurt the corporate sponsorship.

  53. Connor September 29, 2018 2:43 pm

#49 and 51. Agree totally except granato should be subbed out before she serves. 2 more service errors last bringing her season total to about 25 in 12 matches. Ridiculous. She doesn’t even jump serve like iosia.

  54. darkfire35 September 29, 2018 4:13 pm

This may be old news but did Robyn ever post an official reason for Sophia Howling’s departure?

I hope that previous post with the link about Tiff Westerberg committing to Hawaii was true. Anyone else see the video? For a couple sets she played right side and looked like Nikki Taylor off the D set!

    48. I hope you’re right about upcoming recruits. As I said, if this Tiff Westerberg from Canada is for real, she could really help with the outside since we’ll be missing our pin hitters after this year. I know she’s supposed to be a MB, but that outside stuff she was doing was great!

And speedy recovery Skyler! We need you out there especially with Natasha leaving after this year. Lotsa holes to fill! GO BOWS!

  55. Cindy Luis September 29, 2018 5:39 pm

50 the pipe is part of the offense so Granato will remain a 6-rotation player.
    52. don’t know why they didn’t do 10 minutes. it was supposed to by only during nonconference
    53. Granato-Ross is not an option.
hmmm, let’s see, Granato 3 aces during a 9-0 serving run. had 2 SE’s in 15 attempts. coaches will take that number any day.
    54. only thing she said was if a player doesn’t want to be here no reason for her to stay. They never did anything official.
Have mentioned that next year they should be good with what they are expected to bring in. But nothing official yet. LOI in November.
