Van Tilburg’s parents, who made it from Amersterdam to Honolulu for last weekend, are here tonight.
Three aces by Parapunov, the last pretty much lands where SVT’s did last year. This time, it is called in (SVT’s was as well but called out)
UH up 9-5. TO UCI
Hawaii up 20-14. TO UCI. UH with 5 aces in Set 1,
looks like Beach having Tech issues again with gametracker
Uh takes set 1 25-16
Booster club has brought does of ti leaves.
if you are watching ESPN3, you’ll see former Wahine assistant Charlie Brande being interviewed, He’s also the former women’s coach at UCI
Hawaii with its 8th aces, 4th by Parapunov. Warriors up 15-12 at the TTO
That 4th ace by Parapunov is a career-high single match.

parapunov block caps a UCI 4-0 run. UIC has closed to 19-18. TO UH

UCI trying to avoid being swept for the first time this season
Apfelbach with his 12th kill, ends it 25-20
Mahalo for the updates Cindy.
We need to put this thing away now. If it goes to five UCI will have all the momentum.
UH out to a quick 4-0 start. two kills by Parapunov and one from Solbrig. TO UCI
Parapunov with his 14th kill, UCI calls its last timeout at 15-9
out of timeouts, UCI challenging that there was a net violations. not sure where it would have happened. Challenged denied. it’s 18-11
Wow Solbrig having an amazing game! So awesome, never mind he never get any recognition on Monday wen the awards came out, just put ur head down and do work! Lets go warriors! Finish this game!
Hawaii wins 25-18.
Great job, we’re just where we need to be. Assuming LBSU makes the final it should be a great match tomorrow.
Joe W! Outstanding.
Congratulations! Movin’ on! yay!

Beach vs. CSUN
http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=217937
beach takes Set 1, 25-23
I hope CSUN get take a set off of them.
CSUN went 5 with UCSB last night. They are out of gas. You need every advantage you can get against #1 and CSUN is not going to give LB a challenge, unfortunately.
Unfortunately? We should be huge LBSU fans right now. LBSU wins the big west were in the tournament. If LBSU loses tonight, we NEED to beat CSUN or we’re our. And I don’t wanna take that risk. I’m 1000 percent team LBSU right now
Beach closing in on the sweep, takes Set 2 25-13
#31….of course I want LB to win but I would like CSUN to at least challenge them and make them work. LB is hardly breaking a sweat. Would like for them to be at least a little tired or something
Two bids open. Either UCLA or one from Big West conference. Elite 8 for the national title again.
1. LBSU
2. UCLA
3. BUY
4. HI
5. Ohio State
6. Loyola
7. CSUN or UC.I.
8. Lewis
34. There are only 7 slots awarded in the Men’s NCAA Championship Tournament.
Out is UC.I or CSUN or Hawai’i.
Either of the 3.
1. LBSU
2. UCLA
3. BYU
4. HAWAI’I? (Must win the Big West)
5. Ohio State
6. Loyola
7. Lewis
Hey Cindy, any idea when women’s side releases their schedule? Or do you know if any big names besides UCLA and Oregon (who are confirmed) are on it
I apologize about saying hey Cindy btw, I forgot you don’t care for that. Again, my apologies
Is Hawaii for sure guaranteed an at-large no matter the outcome of tomorrow night? They will have had 8 losses when it comes down to considering whether they will be selected as an at-large (assuming they don’t win the AQ tomorrow night)– that total is quite high for an at-large selection. Meanwhile BYU/UCLA and OSU/Loyola all have lower total losses along with legit resumes. Just saying, should we really be breathing a sigh of relief right now over the UCI win?
Warriors control their own destiny….
WIN and IN. No more ‘what ifs’.
This is what you play for, wannabe CHAMPS!?!
Jus’ WIN baby!!
By the way my question was directed at 31
I think tomorrow nights game is between the two best teams in the Country. Like I said before, LBS has the best player but we have the best team. We are really peaking at the right time. This is a whole team effort where the Coaches and the B-side Warriors have worked so hard to make the A-side winners.
#42…..the talk around is UH is in because of who they beat. You can have less losses or have a better won lose record but the RPI for UH is 5th in the country, I believe. UH also beat teams like LBSU, UCLA, and Irvine(twice) and Santa Barbara(twice)
UH also does not have a bad loss. Our losses were to UCLA and BYU(who will meet in the MPSF final). CSUN twice (who made the BW semifinal). UC Irvine( who had a higher RPI then UH ) and LBSU.
UH plays in the premier volleyball conference in the country
I also believe someone on another forum stated that Loyola and OSU have bad losses so if things are fair….UH should be in.
Of course nothing is guaranteed but UH have a better resume of impressive wins.
1. Long Beach
2. MIVA
3. EIVA
4. BYU
5. CONFERENCE CAROLINAS
6. UCLA
7 At-Large2
Loyola lost to Lindewood and Irvine Concordia. These are very bad losses. OSU lost to Lewis(whom we swept) and Ball State.
Since we didnt play Loyola nor OSU……the committee should look at common opponents and see how UH compares. UH beat Lindewood and Concordia. UH also swept Lewis.
No way OSU or Loyola are deserving of an at large.
#44 Even if they lose tomorrow night? Looking at UCLA/BYU/OSU/Loyola, the only possibility that worries me is if Hawaii and Loyola both lose tomorrow night, Those two teams seem to have similar resumes, Hawaii losing to CSUN may not equal a bad loss, unless they lost twice, which they did. Also Hawaii lost to Pepperdine (upset by USC last week). They have good wins in UCLA, UCI (twice), and of course LBSU. But they did lose to BYU whom Loyola beat earlier in the season in Provo.
By the way, Loyola DID beat Pepperdine (@Pepperdine) and CSUN earlier this season. The stats of win/Loss records vs. common opponents among Hawaii and Loyola is of concern to me. Though Loyola DOES also have bad losses to Concordia-Irvine, Lindenwood and Ball State, which are relatively worse when compared to Hawaii’s bad losses. Another interesting stat is if Top seeds LBSU/BYU/OSU/King win their respective Conference Tourneys tomorrow, Hawaii will have a record of 1-2 versus those three, while Loyola will be 3-2 The away records also favor Loyola.
The only significant thing that Hawaii may have over Loyola is their win over LBSU last week, and better RPI.
If I were Hawaii i’d be of course rooting for ourselves, but at the same time for Loyola to win the MIVA tomorrow night. By the way, I think if faced with the situation, Hawaii will win the at large over OSU.
So I’m sure it was mentioned before but tomorrows game, what time Hawaii time and I know it’s on radio but will it be streamed by chance?
4 pm HST, ESPN3
GO WARRIORS!
GO WAHINE!
Reminder – last AVCA poll:
1. LBSU
2. UCLA
3. UCI (out)
4. BYWho
5. Pepperdine (out)
6. HAWAII
If the NoClueAtAll committee was fair, the at-large teams would be the losers of the BWC and MPSF tournaments.
Sofia Russo has signed with the beach team
Rado really stepping up. 21.5 pts yesterday.

new thread up.
couple of answers
Haven’t seen the women’s schedule yet.
All I know is
UCLA, Oregon, Gonzaga, Idaho
Poll was two weeks ago. they didn’t have one this past monday. the poll counts little.
They will look at RPI. As of Monday
1. Long Beach. 2. BYU. 3. UCLA. 4. UCI. 5 Hawaii
Hawaii beat UCI twice, think that eliminates the ‘Eaters
2-3 play each other tonight. 1-5 play each other tonight.
IMHO all four still playing tonight are in.
