Ran into Kalei Greeley. She did not go to Molokai, is working for Sodexo and wanted to be here for the men’s matches. Most of the Wahine will be back for Senior Night.

UCSB’s win over UCI on Thursday does help Hawaii a bit.
IN the loss, UCI mddle blocker Scott Stadick broke his own season record for solo blocks
UCSB wins 23-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 15-13
CSUN def. UCSD, 25-22, 25-14, 19-25, 25-17
Cami Locker from California has committed to the beach
same starters for UH, J. Worsley, Rosenmeier, van Tilburg, Solbrig, Tuileta, Gasman, Parapunov.
UH flips the rotation, SVT serving
The Beach up 15-8 at the TTO. DeFalco is a great player. he doesn’t need to be so punky IMHO.
Ensing with the kill. UH calls a quick TO down 16-8.
UH has bad passing, they just make way too many errors while long beach does not.
Might have to take out Rosie.
6. He was a punk when he took out Mol in last year’s MPSF final going under the net, injuring Mol.
On Tuaniga’s serving, 49ers up 18-8. UH uses its second time out.
Worsley blocking defalco just wont work all night.
UH’s passing is so bad and Rosie and stijn can’t put anything down.
Okay they are being served off the court, man so tired of them losing to long beach ..
Beach wins 25-16.
Beach challenging the four touches. can’t believe DeFalco convinced Knipe to challenge
6. That wasn’t intentional. He should have been called for CenterLine violation and/or net for sure
Solbrig with the ace, lands between DeFalco and Molina. It’s 8-3. TO Beach
Rosenmeier not having a good night. aced and it’s 10-6.
Solbrig and gasman have picked up their serving.
Much better play in second set so far.
I am surprised wade has stuck with Rosie but as long as they have the lead here.
Dalton is such a beast. Hope he makes all american this year.
16. It should have been called but wasn’t…the rule is seldom applied and it injured a player. That’s unacceptable. TJ’s attack/approach causes him to break the plane and he gets away with it.
UH up 20-13. TO Beach.
UH challenging that there was a touch on SVT attack.
21. and there should have been video replay too. Touch called it’s 21-13
UH wins on SE, 25-17. it’s just the 8th set the 49ers have dropped and the first time they’ve been held under 20 points
23. Video replay and/or 4 line judges should be manadatory for the NCAA next year given the speed of the game and the level of play reaching international game.
25. it should have been mandatory last year for the MPSF tournament. no excuse when y have it streaming. agree also that it should be at the NCAA championship as well.
Rosenmeier still without a kill. 0-4-15. DeFalco was 2-1-10 in Set 2.
Rosenmeier is in because he is digging nails
They need high speed video to do replay reviews. The speed of the game is too fast for current setup.
29. Incorrect. The cameras meet the FIVB standard (1080p, HD, fast frame record). No excuse if the match is streamed or online in any format.
Time to take out Rosie, austin could not do any worse passing wise and serving wise.
28. not questioning Rosenmeier being on the court. merely mentioning he hadn’t had a kill.
2 straight aces by Punahou product Siegried and Beach up 17-12. TO UH
All these service errors are just killing them
This third set.
DeFalco-Tuaniga bit of a miscommunication. UH pulls to 21-18. TO Beach
tickets 4982, turnstile 3877.
Flash flood advisory just put out. drive safely
tough serving by J. Worsley, 2 kills by Parapunov. another TO by The Beach. it’s 21-20
Kill by DeFalco and Beach up 23-20. TO UH
Too easy of a serve by Joe after timeout and then Tui with bad pass it’s the little things:/
Hawaii holds off four set points, ties at 24. Parapunov hits wide to end it, 26-24.
Just wondering why austin hasn’t come in to serve, he’s been the best server at the ssc.
Amazing rally. What is knight using the green card on?
Beach challenging net violation. think both teams were guilty.
Challenge denied. UH up 14-12. weird Beach calls a timeout, didn’t wait for the TTO.
Van Tilburg with his 16th kill. it’s 15-12 at the TTO
Warriors stuff DeFalco. it’s 20-16. TO Beach
ace by Ensing pulls the 49ers to 23-21. TO UH
Enseng and defalco have come close to foot faulting a lot.
Hawaii was up 23-19. Beach has tied it at 23. TO UH
now stijn can’t get a kill ugh
rado tries to do too much sometimes that’s why he makes so many errors.
rosie’s passing is not good right now he seems to have lost confidence this match.
DeFalco stuffed twice, UH wins 27-25
46. Yes, they both do…and still no calls on the centerline from either official. Knipe had a lot of nerve challenging…he is a real jerk…
AHHH I can’t handle this I’m so stressed watching this. I don’t even wanna watch the 5th! ugh!
Too much stress lol
Does defalco really have to argue 6 times a set. It’s really annoying at this point.
52. They really need to card DeFalco to quiet him down. He is a real jerk…
LBSU men act just like the women do. Both are just a tad bit more cocky and argumentive than other teams. It’s reslly not a pleasant quality
Seriously where is austin as serving sub i do not get it.
Stijn just struggled late , they had their chances. Plenty of them to lock up a bye to the big west semis. But delfalco got it done stijn did not.
AHH we had them, but on the flip side, we took beach further then any other team has this season. Proud of them, just hope they can rest and re-load for tomorrow nite.
Wade some head scratching moves not trying mautautia all match, bringing in namahoe to serve his serve has not worked all season.
Up 14-12 you should win, then a service error and hitting error lets long beach off the hook, this team just makes way too many mental errors.
considering how poorly they played to open the night, going 5 was impressive.
we’ll see what happens tomorrow
Beach pulls it out 22-20
I feel tonight was an upset…in its own way. The guys did try really hard and never gave up. I am wondering if Rosie’s lack of confidence came because a lot of fans were yelling to keep #3 out. What they MEANT was the #3 on Long Beach’s team. LB’s #3 kept coming onto the court when he shouldn’t have…he did this all night.
I was annoyed because I thought it was poor sportsmanship and they were calling for Austin to replace Rosie but realized it was not meant towards our #3 but LB”s #3. This is why the center boo’d LB’s #3 when he came in to serve.
Someone needs to discipline the LB players.
Was at the match, LBSU is a cocky bunch for sure… #3 on the bench sure was annoying.. The finger wagging thru the net by Defalco and Ensing were so unnessasry… And lastly Deflaco constantly confronting the up ref and throwing hissy fits deserved yellow cards..
A fun match to watch, I think LBSU won the passing and defensive game… We really need more offense from our OH2 position… SV carried Hawaii tonight… He had a few swings for the match that I’m sure he’d like to have back…
Tonight’s final match tests which team recovers best and wants it most, including the coaching staffs.
63. Maybe someone should print up yellow/red cards like they did for Brian G (LBSU women’s coach)? Hand them out at Saturday’s match…
What’s most annoying was that “water break” they took in game four when HI caught up with them and went ahead then their coach started complaining on length then called for timeout after…
warriorfan, I agree with you. Where was Austin? It seems that Austin has a little shorter leash than Brett. Brett struggling last night is an understatement. I thought that after the first set, Austin would have been in.
Mamane’s serve is too easy, especially if he doesn’t hit his spots. Bringing that serve in the 5th set was a huge error, in my opinion. That basically gave the Beach a free ball to run whatever play they wanted too.
Hope the Warriors can regroup tonight and send Tui and Mamane out with a huge win!
As for the Beach, they are a cocky.
I think Hawaii got a little intimidated by LBS’s cocky attitude. This was more like a heavy weight fight than a volleyball game. I loved every minute of it except for the ending! We can beat these guys!
Saturday 5:46 PM: UCI defeated UCSB in three sets and CSUN also defeated UCSD in three sets. Last sets were won with identical scores, 25-21, just three minutes of each other. I’d go back and forth between the two matches. So Hawaii has no help from either team. It’s a must win for Hawaii tonight to claim second place. Lose tonight and Hawaii is in fourth place. Much more is at stake for Hawaii tonight than Long Beach.

new thread up for Friday and SandBows.
I don’t think Hawaii was intimidated by the Beach. Their biggest problem was the service errors.
