Two freshmen begin UH careers today
Two freshmen — quarterback Jeremy Moussa and defensive lineman Blessman Taala — are enrolled at UH and will begin taking classes today, the first day of the spring semester.
Moussa graduated a semester early from Eleanor Roosevelt High (Corona, Calif.) to participate in the offseason conditioning program, learn the offense, and compete in spring training.
Taala graduated in June, but delayed enrolling at UH to completely heal from an injury. He officially signed a letter of intent last month.

Great news !! But we have an offensive scheme developed for this season?
Great to hear Jeremy Moussa is enrolled … we really need competition at QB
LIVE ALOHA / PLAY WARRIOR / DEFEND THE ROCK … GO ‘BOWS … !!!!!
Welcome Jeremy, Blessman and all the JC arrivals!
Very excited to find out who our next recruiting and coaching additions will be.
Warrior Nation….have faith and trust in the process….Believe!
Go Warriors!
is that ausie 6feet 8 player still commited.
Thought the Aussie player ship has sailed.
Lord, bless Jeremy Moussa and Blessman Taala.
interestingly, no word of the 6’7″ Dl/OL from down under — some say coming, yet no word from blog host
anticipated him enrolling in Jan 2018 to start class, train, and get into it during spring ball
with all the continuous very cold weather in Minnesota — maybe get chance for the 6′ 10″ OL from Australia
I thought Chevan wanted to be an early commit. Oh well, he seems very bright so I’m optimistic he’ll get a good look in the fall.
Someone posted earlier that former offensive linemen (like Brian Smith?) should not be calling plays because they hadn’t played a skilled position.
Interesting to note that of the two offensive coordinators in today’s national championship game, one was a safety in college and the other was a nose tackle. Just saying …
Please don’t put Tua in.
I will root against my bet.
Kendrick Lamar as the halftime entertainment is an amazingly gutsy choice made by ESPN.
He is not corporation-friendly.
Google the cover art for “To Pimp a Butterfly”.
Can you spell Transfer = HURTS!!!
Maybe Not!!!
Well Maybe!!!
Now Definitely!!!
Given Tua’ s, Marcus, past qbs and now Cordeiro’ s success as quarterbacks, has any thought been given to have Vince Passes as our QB coach? The guy seems to have a tremendous knowledge in developing the position.
Tua vs McKenzie for the national title!
…and there’s Jordan Ta’amu at Ole Miss
And perhaps State Gatorade player of the tear Chevan Cordeiro.
And they said we only produced linemen.
Producing top level qbs from Hawaii is a relatively new thing. Must be all the state of the art equipment and more efficient offenses high school kids are exposed to now a days compared to the past.
The “Death Star” just won the National Title with one of our own at the helm.
Literally every FBS program will be recruiting in Hawaii now.
I am afraid that every SEC school will have a “Hawaiian” or two on their rosters.
I have very mixed emotions about what I just witnessed.
When Nick Saban first smiled, it reminded me of an old SNL sketch, in which the premise was a game show in which contestants had to make Joan Baez(played by Nora Dunn) laugh.
It will take a special kid to want to stay home and represent the Green and White. But it would be selfish to begrudge him should he make that choice to play on the continent.
I am hoping for the best next season.
I hope these new recruits can play. And if they can’t, I hope they at least get their degrees.
Tua. Close game. 00:06 seconds left. Nick Sabans begins an outrage. 4th and goal, 4th quarter.
Alabama wins in OT. (26-20) Over Georgia.
Nah!
Alabama has a bigger line. Coaching; the players are better. SEC.
MWC sucks. SEC has been top ranking many years. #1 to #2 to #4, then tonight #1. National title game. Now it’s Tua. And #22 RB did run over the 6-6 DT Georgia. How?
There were many viewers watching. I counted at least 9 million viewers national. So, go college sports.
It was a estimate on espn and % of fans per capita. A formula was used. Math.
Tua’s performance should silence the critics who questioned his decision to sign with Alabama and play behind an entrenched No. 1. All he wanted was a chance to compete.
Tua should be the starter entering spring. Alabama is loaded with young receivers that it would be a shame if Saban handed the reins back to Hurts.
Awesome job, Tua.
I ate chocolate ice cream and Maui chips while watching the post game highlights. Oahu is recognized. Yes. Tua is the man of the tres a horas. Muy mucho estamos!
As they say in Los Angeles, hasta luego. Estamos de los estados unidos.
Back to you…!
What does Saban do with a QB who is entering his junior year, his third potential year as a starter, really a payoff year and is 25-2 in two years. Make him a safety?
I like how they started a new qb in the 2nd half, something I think UH needs to try out if things aren’t working out which I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen them do that.
Great Evening All!
Welcome Blessman!
Welcome Jeremy!

IYF,
If our QB2 can lead 2 practices and not let a single ball hit the ground at either one then by all means…
Congrats to Tua, former St Louis QB!
Is this the sign for Rolo to go with another St Louis QB who was his backup?
The other day an ESPN commentator on radio said Mariota, in the completed playoff game, was playing like he did at Hawaii, passing and running.
Hope Rolo was watching tonight’s game. If your QB1 isn’t playing well, give the backup a chance!
Congrats to former St Louis QB Tui Tagovailoa for leading Alabama to a National Championship. Congrats to former Mililani QB Milton McKenzie for leading UCF to a Peach Bowl win over Auburn and a perfect 13-0 season.
Since Marcus Mariota the secret about Hawaii talented QB’s got out… now Tui and Milton have blown the door wide open. Expect more P5 schools to pay attention to Hawaii High School QB recruits from now on.
Can’t wait to see what that St Louis QB Chevan Cordeiro can do on the field for Hawaii.
National title game, Saban brings in his freshman quarterback in the second half. Most coaches would have thought his starting quarterback would pull out of his first half slump and change up the play-calling. His decision, however, was totally against the grain, but he had the guts to call it.
What JC recruits are enrolling early?
Hurts, a strong runner, can shift to running back.
Paul Hornug did it well, very well…
Interesting SI article. Noticed comments about UH attempts to recruit Tua. …one word…sad.
