Back in action
Following the bye weekend, the Warriors were back on the practice field today, competing against the scout units ahead of Saturday’s road game against Wyoming.
Two significant things happened: 1) there were several ailing players who missed treatments, and 2) as punishment, the Warriors had to run a series of 110-yard sprints after practice. The extra-curricular workout served as punishment, as it turned out, for the players who missed the treatments. They had to stand in the middle of the field while their teammates had to run sprints. But, in a Mr. Miiyagi sort of way, it also served as an activity with a purpose. The sprints should help the Warriors maintain their breath — and stamina — when they compete at 7,200-foot elevation this weekend.
As for the projected 44-degree temperature at kickoff, well, as one reader suggested, the Warriors might considered the layered look.
Guud Afternoon Tsaikos…Bootiful Day!
….Thermal bvd….keep em warm….
Most worried about getting gassed with the thin air and all. Got to rotate lot of guys and have lots of oxygen tanks on the side.
They going no huddle, for sure, to keep us gassed.
IMUA WARRIORS!
Go Warriors.
If UH can put together a winning streak in conference, I’d bet its safe to say that some network will pick up the SDSU game.
Planning on watching the Warrior- Wyoming game at Blue Tropix (the Old Denny’s at Pearl Ridge) on Saturday. Probably get there right around 330. If anyone wants to join me, they are more than welcome.
ST: Where’s the team staying at – Cheyenne ?
You mentioned in a previous post that team had a 1-hour bus ride to the stadium.
just curious.
Northsohre fan We going to see you at a tailgate this year???
Wyoming leads 13-9 in head-to-head match ups, since WAC November 18, 1978. Hawai’i won that game 27-22. Plus 10 Wyoming before game time.
But Hawai’i has 2 three game consecutive match winning streak against Wyoming. Wyoming has a 6 game winning Streak. And last game between the two was in 2014 when Hawai’i won 38-28 at Aloha Stadium. So I’m going for the +10 on Wyoming before game time in Laramie, Wyoming.
As you can see, I see another come back from behind win, if Hawai’i is going to win in Laramie, Wyoming. Hawai’i 44 and Wyoming 42. I say it’s a nail biter all the way to the 00:04 seconds in the games when some runner runs in the end zone for a TD. Hawai’i wins.
As always mid terms will be coming up soon, I suggest for enjoyment reading for the players, read a good book on flight. Here’s one. NEMESIS, by CATHERINE COULTER. copyright 2015. #1 NEW YORK TIMES – BEST SELLING AUTHOR. I’m just about done with this thriller of a book.
Is it fair to punish the others for someone not doing something ? Or is that the ” norm ” ?

Phil Klay is a real-life marine who was at Fallujah during the Iraqi War. He wrote a short-story collection called “Redeployment”.
Real chicken skin stuff.
It’s written in a way that will appeal to both pro-war and anti-war factions. It’s neither John Wayne in “The Green Berets” nor Oliver Stone’s “Born on the Fourth of July”.
Hawaii 31
Wyoming 27
Western Carolina beat Gardner-Webb 42 to 27. Gardner-Webb lost to Wyoming 27-0 (for whatever its worth). I say get chance, if we play good.
Hawaii 27 Wyoming 24
Jesse,
I wish the food there were better. I go there to watch road games sometimes and i’m always disappointed with the food. can’t beat the cheap beer, though!
I like Cappie’s take on the score. I’m guessing UH 31 and Wyoming 20. Might be a higher score if it was not predicted to be so cold! By the end of the game, it could be near freezing.
UH 42
Wyoming 28
Coach Rolovich is absolutely right regarding guys missing treatment sessions. He is also correct that Wyoming will recover and be prepared. This weeks game is pivotal. 3 games in and so far I would say they have played to about 60% of their ability-meaning penalties missed assignments poor decisions and miscues. This week putting it all together is key. Time for woulda coulda shoulda is over. So we will see. I have total faith this will be a complete package game-GoWarriors!
from St’s column …
The Cowboys are trying to rebound from Saturday’s 49-13 loss to Oregon, during which heralded quarterback Josh Allen was held to 9-for-24 passing for 64 yards and zero touchdowns.
*** Allen appeared to be affected after he was hit on the right arm while throwing in the first half and by an ankle ailment in the fourth quarter. ***
During Monday’s teleconference, Allen told reporters he is physically fit. “It’s a little sore,” he said of his throwing arm, “but nothing terrible — nothing that probably will prevent me from practicing or even playing this week. It’s not even a question.”
At 1-2, Allen expects the Cowboys to rally, as they did last season when they surged from a 2-2 start to win the Mountain Division. “This is a team that’s going to be on a mission the rest of the season,” Allen said.

Wyoming will win big Saturday. We are not solid enough. I also think the offense is run by a coordinator who can be habit ridden and predictable. Defense is not there yet.

Great Morning All!
It’s a team sport.

Hawaii 38 – Wyoming 28
Guud Morning Tsaikos…Bootiful Day!
JJ…will try to make some. We miss the Tsaikos..
Not making too much about Allen’s stat vs. the Ducks…it was against the Ducks. Warrior D has got to pressure. They’ll go wide and up the gut. Front 7 play might make all the difference.
IMUA WARRIORS!
A Vielw From Afar,
How ya doing?
Lots of predictions so far
🙂
There is no way I typed an “l” in view.
It is too far away from the e and the w.
Robot must be naughty boy…
Can they breath freely in Wyoming? If not, I see a blow out. Other than this, same score. SDSU is #24 ranked according to this blog. I’ll go with Clemson as #1.
I was wondering if any of you know that the “555 timer IC” has been around a long time. Any idea if Doug Lowe invented it. I think Hawai’i should know, I’m for UC Davis too, in college sports. Just academics involved too. They are not playing Hawai’i this year. Few small thoughts.
