RB not expected to play this season
Running back Melvin Davis is not expected to play this coming season because of an apparent knee injury.
Davis rushed for 218 yards in eight games in 2015 after transferring from Santa Monica College. He redshirted last year after suffering an infection that required hospitalization.
Davis did not participate in spring training or the offseason conditioning program because of what appeared to be a knee injury.
It is not known whether Davis will seek a medical retirement or apply for a medical hardship that would allow him to play as a sixth-year senior in 2018.

1st of 2nd. Best wishes to Mel .
The main thing is your health, everything else is secondary.
Wishing all the best to Mel Davis. I would say focus on getting healthy and getting your degree. Football can wait another year. BTW, is that the same kind of infection that has sidelined Austin Webb?
Stan Gaudion video:
my depth perception is off so it seems that the ball in not traveling far
kicking from the right side — he pulls the ball to the left nearly every kick
his approach to the LOS should be changed to prevent blocks or being tackled?
how fast is he? why, cause to better judge his success when running with the ball instead of kicking it
guess I got spoiled with Scott Harding
Sorry to hear about Mel Davis…With a large contingent of RBs, we should be okay, but it would have been nice to have his short-yardage talents. Hope he concentrates on getting well and getting his degree.
Mel’s a good one. Swift and total healing to him. I hope we see him on the field again with his degree in hand.
Chung, Ito, among others I believe will fill bill on short yardage . I am a big fan Kaiwi Chung! Ito is intriguing-listed at 5′ 8 195 gonna bet a little lower to the ground. Ito could be a pleasant surprise as a situational player. GoWarriors!!!

ALL wounded Warriors,

No fear.
Dave Matlin was on 1420. Said no new uniforms this year for football or teams already wearing UA. Although each team determines how they use their allotment. Helmets not UA supplied.
DLM, thanks for link to Naotala family’s message. Heartwarming.
And what! No new football uniforms. At least replace the grey football pants with white ones.
How about new Chrome Helmets! Let’s get the young men EXCITED!
Or is this just a way to get the guy’s thinking there not getting new Uni’s, and then they actually get them!!!
It would be cool to keep stirring the pot (new uni’s), something new for Rolo to keep’em progressing and getting better!.
Sending positive vibes to Mr. Davis for a quick recovery
Going forward a 6’2″ 225lb freshman RB comes to mind
