Former Warriors will put on free camp
High school quarterbacks and receivers are invited to participate in the 808 Passing Academy Camp on Friday, June 23, at Aloha Stadium.
The cost?
Nada.
Zip.
Nothing.
Former UH quarterback Sean Schroeder, PAAMCO and several individual donors will pay the insurance, rental and operational costs. Each camper gets T-shirt.
“Our form of payment is seeing kids succeed, like we were able to when we played,” said Schroeder, UH’s starter in 2012 and 2013. “We wanted to make it inclusive to everyone. No matter what somebody’s background or upbringing is, we didn’t want that to impede them from participating. It’s a way for all the coaches involved to give back.”
Passing guru Vince Passas, former Notre Dame receiver Robby Toma, and former Warriors Schroeder, Jeremy Higgins, Cayman Shutter, Miah Ostrowski, Ricky Lumford and Jeremiah Cockheran will serve as instructors.

Great to give back! Go Warriors!
Good to see Warriors from yester year giving back. Good job! Is Sean living in town? What a tough guy……the pounding he took and came right back for more. You have to admire that in a guy.
weather looks ugly today – dark clouds over the Koolaus and points NE — but, massive dark clouds over the ocean off Oahu.
perhaps this is the day of many thunder showers predicated by weather persons
kinda spooky if Dru goes out with an injury and all the backups have nada snaps in a game
maybe the incoming frosh will leap over the current # 2s or #3s
feel the UMass game will not be pushover for UH — they can score mucho points!!
Nice!
The Warriors usually travel poorly, but looking only at conference games, last year’s team did better on the road with a 3-1 record, while posting a 1-3 record at home. Of course last year was last year, so how will the Warriors travel to Amherst? And I agree, the first game v UMass will be a tough game. Last year the Minutemen torched the Warrior defense for 479 total yards and put up 40 points. Hoping new DC Legi Suiaunoa will change that.
Miah Ostrowski should be tutoring Brocke Stepteau and Drew Buggs. Ostrowski, a walk-on, was a far superior point guard than scholarship guys like Kareem Ntoto, Shaquille Stokes, Keith Shamberger, and a whole bunch of other point guards.
Great to see them give back. Go Warriors!
schroeder was the only qb chow had that can pass.chow was a complete fraud.
Wow, much Mahalo to Sean Schroeder and Vince Passas, former Notre Dame receiver Robby Toma, and former Warriors Schroeder, Jeremy Higgins, Cayman Shutter, Miah Ostrowski, Ricky Lumford and Jeremiah Cockheran And I like that it is all about passing and receiving—kaching for the youngsters who take
advantage of this freebie. Now got to google who is PAAMCO…
Great job Sean and our other former Warriors and players! You truly show the Warrior spirit of giving back to the community!
