Warriors hire Nakama as intern

Former UH short-snapper Brodie Nakama has been named an intern for special teams, coach Nick Rolovich confirmed to the Star-Advertiser today.

In December, Nakama completed a UH career in which he did not have an errant snap on 199 attempts.

He assisted with the training staff the past spring semester while completing work on his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and rehabilitation science. He graduated in May.

Nakama will assist special teams coordinator Mayur Chaudhari. Nakama succeeds Micah Franz, who now coaches in the high school ranks.

UH at UCLA football game on Sept 9:

I just purchased the best available 135 tickets ($65 each); on the Hawaii side line in Sections 7 & 8; 15 to 19 rows up around the goal line. these sections are closer to the field because this stadium curves in & this is where visiting fans sit. Sect 7 & 8 is now the visitor’s side as they switched sides this coming season. This stadium has 77+ rows so this are great seats closer to the field. let me know if you want these tix as I had to pay for these upfront. Text me at 415-324-0585.

This is the same section 8 where the folks buying from the UH ticket office will sit; so hopefully we can get 500+ Hawaii fans there!

    islandman-

I think Coach Delanian was the disciplinarian on the team. I remember watching Delanian going after Megan Huff for not being properly serious in a team huddle where Hawaii was down.

    Three coaches in two seasons.

I miss Mary Wooley a lot.

Loyola(Md.) had a season similar to Hawaii.

People complain about Coach Ganot’s recruiting, but truth be told, the only Beeman recruit that has made a real impact on Hawaii’s fortunes was Destiny King.

Karaitiana, Huff, Jackson, Kuehu…these were two-sport players or players from other coaching regimes; these were the players that are most responsible for Beeman’s moderately successful run.

Disappointingly, the first team with all of Beeman’s recruits did not look so good.

Coach Beeman has of yet to recruit somebody akin to being an impact player, which admittedly is hard to do at a low-mid major.

The last transcendent player the women’s basketball program had produced was probably Raylene Howard.

Still, Laura Beeman is a major upgrade from the previous two coaches.

Still have confidence that she’ll get the job done.
