Washington’s Petersen set for Elite Camp
Washington head coach Chris Petersen, who led the Huskies to this year’s College Football Playoffs, confirmed today he will be coaching at the UH Elite Camp on June 9-10 on the Manoa campus.
It was previously announced Washington and USC coaches would assist in the UH-run camp, the only high-school-aged football camp in Hawaii involving Division I coaches.
In eight seasons at Boise State, Petersen led the Broncos to two BCS bowl victories and won the Bear Bryant Award in 2006 and 2009. He was picked as the Bobby Dodd coach of the year in 2010.
In his third season at Washington, he guided the Huskies to the Pac-12 title and berth in the CFP semifinals.

After undergoing knee surgery, former UH running back Steven Lakalaka can now run again.
This past Saturday afternoon, he walked — participating in UH’s commencement ceremony. Lakalaka earned a bachelor’s in kinesiology. He said he will spend the next year taking required classes toward his goal of becoming a physician’s assistant.
He also has not closed the possibility of continuing his football career. Because he was not healthy enough to compete in this year’s UH pro day, he has been invited to participate in next year’s event.
Another Punahou and UH graduate, volleyball player Kupono Fey earned a degree in civil engineering in four years. He is expected to play in Europe this fall.
Here are pictures from Saturday’s afternoon ceremony:

5280Warrior — do you reside in Colorado? If so, which city?

#10 – SteveM, I’m in Broomfield.
Chris Petersen?
Didn’t he have a reputation for not talking to the local media when he was at Boise State?
i don’t like pac12 coaches in our house.
Well, Kalua pig has a point. But if Rolo and
the athletic director can put in a stipulation
that they support UH entry into the pac 12,
then ok, welcome one and all 🙂
i hope rolo and matlin go to the mwc media day and tell hair thompson we are prepared to go indy.
Congrats to the GRADS … that’s what collegiate athletics are all about … and a special Aloha to our newest Rainbow Warrior Michael Boyle … hope we don’t miss a beat in Special Teams w/ him … to me Rigo and Marcus Kemp were our 2 MVPs
LIVE ALOHA / PLAY WARRIOR / DEFEND THE ROCK … GO ‘BOWS … !!!!!
Mr. Eldredge should never had said on-air that Hawaii could lose the rest of their games and still finish above .500.
Since Hawaii has nothing to play for, I hope Coach Trapasso keeps Demeter out there at shortstop. I don’t want him to transfer out.
