Options for former UH lineman
This is developing into a big week for former UH offensive lineman RJ Hollis.
He has completed work on an on-line class needed to finish his studies in economics.
He said he has received some feelers from the Canadian Football League. He also is set to compete in a CFL combine later this month.
Hollis was an unheralded leader last season. He’s intelligent and skilled. He also earned admiration from Hall of Fame lineman Jackie Slater at UH’s pro day in March. UH blockers were taught the “Slater” blocking move.

If you’ve got some free time and feel like feeling amazed, go to today’s UH baseball game against No. 14 Cal State Fullerton.
People in the know who have watched UH baseball for a long, long time insist Josh Rojas might be the best-fielding third baseman in the program’s history. Last night, he made four oh-wow plays.
Mornin’
GO WARRIORS !!!
Congrats RJ!!! Good luck in your future endeavors.
Rojas is amazing, he is looking like my man Brooks Robinson. Oriole for eva.
I was there last night and agree about Rojas. He is really smooth. Almost pretty to watch in the field.
Great Afternoon All!
Josh right
Das it.
Home from the McKinley High 50th Class Reunion where I saw al and hawnstln who flew in from LoCal. I was approached by someone I didn’t know in high school who said, “Hey–you take care the Tsai-ko blog record stuff, right?”. Said he hasn’t posted in years, but was surprised when I pointed out Al across the room. “Ohhh… so that’s the Al!” 🙂
i wish hawaii baseball was more consistent. they need to be better than .500….
Coach Murakami once tapped Matt Apana against Pepperdine in a regional final.
He took a chance.
It didn’t pan out.
Cal State Fullerton, apparently, has no problem against finesse pitchers.
Prior to the finale, I was hoping Coach Trapasso would start Colin Ashworth. If he didn’t pan out, you still had DiMiero and Uskali in the pen.
I like this year’s team.
They hit the ball.
I have given up on any post-season hopes. I just want them to cross the thirty win threshold.
I hope Coach Trapasso starts Demeter in the opener against UC-Irvine. You don’t want to alienate him, instigating a plan to transfer out. You wonder if there is some pouting. That three pitch strikeout with the bases loaded was disappointing.
Josh Rojas is a little better than Vinnie Catricala.
My ole partner in crime at the old bobbys, was the smoothest infielder I saw at UH—Chucky Jackson.
