Rolo and La. Confidential
While the nine UH assistant football coaches will be heading to a high school near you this week as part of recruiting evaluations, head coach Nick Rolovich is going to Bayou Country.
Rolovich will be meeting with LSU coaches, including former cohort Dave Aranda, as part of a series of professional-development sessions. UH assistant coaches have had sessions with USC, Michigan, Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons.
Greg McMackin initially hired Rolovich and Aranda as position coaches in 2010. By the following season they were calling plays before being promoted to coordinators. Rolovich and Aranda, both cerebral innovators, had wonderful competitions each practice.

The work never ends, go get um coaches.
Great to see this coaching staff having professional development opps by visiting other schools and NFL teams.
Looks like Dave Aranda’s defense got a transfer D-lineman from TT.
Some of the questions Rolo will ask:
How much do they pay you?
Whose your agent?
Can you mention me to your new coach?
🙁
Spent a pleasant evening yesterday watching some of the great football victories on you tube. Not as good as “live”, but better than nothing!!
On this whole streaming of the games, can’t Oceanic just sell advertising and let it be free? It would seem them could make more money that way.
Let’s see…….all I want is
A new stadium
Streaming to the mainland of games
A certain two players to be given that second chance-
An ice cold Primo!
That’s it!
GoWarriors!!!!!
I’m surprised there’s still no TV contract for the UMass/Hawaii game.
Really Maddog? Primo?
Half my neighbor’s garage was always filled with empty Primo bottles. As a kid I told myself one day I’m gonna have one of those, it must be good. Ummm no.
Ok-so I’m a simple guy. I was on the island two years ago. Went to Walmart got a tall sizer of Primo! Drank it for two weeks straight-it was fine. I got micro breweries out the butt here-no thanks I will take a Miller Lite or a Primo any day! I’m a traditionalist!!!! Drank it at UH in the early 70s it takes me back!!!
Great to see Rolo and his staff involved with professional development by visiting other programs and NFL teams. Nice reunion with his former colleague in UH assistant Dave Aranda at LSU.
BTW, looks like Dave Aranda’s defense just picked up a certain D-line transfer from TT.

I have a fuzzy memory of Primo Brewery in Waimalu.
I think it was already closed when I was cognizant of my surroundings.
I thought that was a great idea someone came up with. His idea was to rebuild Aloha Stadium one section at a time. So stadium can stay open. The new smaller concept is ridiculous.
when i was a kid in the sixty’s all the adults (that I saw) drank Primo.
This staff is a class act-received notes of thanks, handwritten, from Coaches Suiaunoa and Smith for my support of Na Koa. So much pride in this program! GoWarriors!!!!!
Maddog50:
YEA!!! primo beer
back in the late 50s/early 60s the main brewery was on South Street and Primo had a promotion that any “legit club/organization” could schedule a meeting at their “beer garden”
we had many under grad and grad student from the Trust Territory at our dorm and we would schedule “meetings” — free beer!!! — one night Masami drank 16 bottles and was sober as heck!!
great fun with great friends!!!
