Retirement plan

One of the good things UH does is honor the scholarships of players who are no longer medically able to play.

Two years ago, there were four football players who took medical retirements. They all ended up graduating or on track to earning a degree.

One of the forgotten players was offensive lineman Luke Clements, who had to medically retire last year. Clements reports that he is still attending UH, remains on scholarship and is set to graduate in May 2018. Clements never played a down for the Warriors but he practiced enthusiastically, was a good teammate and student, and, best of all, had a killer performance in the 2015 lip sync battle.

That’s the right thing to do. Good job UH Admin.

Just wondering what other schools do. I’m guessing UH is the minority and others just choose to say tough luck but you’re in your own.

Class A act to continue their scholarship.
After all, it is all about the student athlete right?
But to free up scholarships for the team, it would be
nifty if a special roll over scholarship could be created
to replace the athlete aspect and turn it into A student one.
