  4. Cindy Luis March 29, 2017 11:19 am

ah, they fixed it. 1-1. Think they saw the 2, which denoted order of finish. as it was the second match done.
think it’s funny, they called the pair Zalopany-Norene

    UH wins at 5

Great to see flight 1 beating Waves’ top pair. Martin and Tucker seem to be getting better. Too bad about 2 and 3. Hopefully, the flights improve and can get payback in Hawaii.

  11. warriorfan March 29, 2017 1:58 pm

I’ve suspected Pepperdine’s been using their top flight at 3 all season, Dyer and Caputo are both really good, Dyer was in their number one last year.

Close but no cigar 🙁 UH needs to win against one of the top 5 soon, to secure that post season bid, Long Beach dual is must win.

  12. Volleyman March 30, 2017 6:45 am

I think as long as Hawaii wins out their matches not against teams ranked higher than them, they can still make it to NCAAs. The match against LBSU will probably determine their seeding.

This is what I foresee as the tournament field.

    West Bids:
    USC
    Pepperdine
    UCLA

    East Bids:
    Florida State
    LSU
    Stetson

    At Large:
    LBSU
    Hawaii

If UH loses to LBSU, that probably means they are the last team in.

Stijn won, good for him he’s been on a tear.

I wonder if Adora Anae will pull a Kan and transfer to the sand bows next season. I saw her against USC and she was very impressive against Claes/Hughes taking them to three sets. I think Anae would fill in nicely for departing Nikki Taylor next season.

I think the sand bows miss Rooks this season, she was playing at such a high level late in the season last year.

  15. Ki March 31, 2017 8:55 am

So what happened to Rooks? Is she still on suspension?

  16. warriorfan March 31, 2017 1:03 pm

    15. At this point it’s half way through the season. I would think she is redshirting.

  17. Cindy Luis March 31, 2017 3:56 pm

    11. as good as a win over the Beach would be for the RPI, the match that matters is in the Big West final with the NCAA bid on the line.

Re Rooks. still suspended but don’t think she’s redshirting. She doesn’t look to be practicing. only see her sometimes at matches.

    14. you never know about Anae. something to ask her when the Utes are here for indoor.
