Watching BYU/long beach and I would prefer Long Beach sweeps and hosts the mpsf semifinals.
Still not sure how Long Beach and BYU managed to dominate UH blocking wise, Long beach is not a tall team but they block well.
Jennings was also predictable I guess.
1. I can see why you prefer that Long Beach host as they are almost sea level and UH had taken two sets from them. My real question is who has better online streaming? I thought that BYU is tops on that. Maybe I am wrong. Who do you think has better quality video, BYU or Long Beach? After all, we may be watching the MPSF semifinals with UH in it so we’d want good quality video.
BYU obviously is better since they have a channel and will be streaming their broadcast
But at this point I dont want the warriors anywhere near Provo!! they have not won there in 14 years since Costas willed them to a win.
Also would much rather the warriors play BYU in the semis in long beach than Long Beach in the semis in Provo.
Its funny in the mens game people seem to want recruit 6’10- 7 feet middles and yet Long beach is leading the nation in blocks with 6’7 and 6’4 middles.
Long beach’s stream is okay, they have a terrible announcer though I think they put their radio broadcast in sync with the video but at least its HD unlike other big west schools like Davis and cal poly who’s streams suck.
4. Your logic makes sense there. Besides there is less for UH to travel to Long Beach than Provo. It’s just that I can only watch their live streams. If OC broadcasts, I can’t watch live. So OC Sports doesn’t need to go there at all.
Long beach is a more well rounded team, BYU has more weaknesses like UH with its outside hitters, BYU’s middles aren’t great and they don’t play as well out of Provo.
Beach sweeps 25-22, 25-21, 25-22
49ers cleaned up their serving ‘-) 21 SEs compared to 28 on Friday.
8. You got your wish, so if the Warriors win the quarterfinals, they will play BYU at Long Beach. No predicting who would play in the finals. Irvine is still capable of pulling off an upset just as it did at Ohio State.
I agree that streaming from Cal Poly and Davis are poor quality and blurry. But the men won’t play at either site next year, only the women.
Warriors could get some help if Pepperdine beats UCI. It’s in the 4th, UCI leads 2-1
11. much volleyball to be played. If UCLA beats SC then Hawaii twice, they would have the tiebreaker over Warriors. It could end up being 1. Beach. 2. BYU. 3. UCLA. 4. UH.
but we’ll see what happens. UCLA is at SC on Wednesday then Cal Baptist on Saturday before hosting UH, Long Beach finishes hosting CSUN April 8. BYU at UCSB for two.
Both Bruins and Warriors have the tiesreaker on UCI
Anteaters-Waves 26-26 in the fourth
UCI def. Pepperdine 3-1
McKellar starting in place of van Tilburg, rest of lineup remains the same: Rosenmeier, Mol, Tuileta, Gasman, Fey, Franciskovic.
Franciskovic with the ace, it’s 8-3 TO CSUN
No stream? Link has a countdown for the UH vs Nevada baseball game.
Kalchev hits line wide. it’s 15-9 at the TTO
18. should be a stream for this. Baseball doesn’t have a stream tonight. it’s not on TV.
UH up 20-12. TO CSUN
having same problem with the link! can’t watch the game
The link has NO stream at all. The link shows a countdown for a baseball game that is in 4 days and counting.
21-22. sorry, don’t know what to tell you. i don’t work for TV
McKellar hits long twice, first one looked in but no challenge. CSUN has pulled to 20-16
I was just reiterating my initial post because you misread it. There was no baseball game being played, just a countdown for a baseball game.
These streaming problems with OC Sports is really getting to be frustrating. Two baseball games, last night’s VB match, and now again tonight, on Senior Night. Since I now live on the mainland, I can’t just drive down to the SSC. Maybe if we all tweet to OC Sports, someone might notice.
mentioned it to UH, they said they are aware of the problem but it’s TV’s to fix.
UH wins 25-19
26. you’re welcome to tweet.
Van Tilburg in for Set 2. Solbrig in for Gasman.
Ok, Thanks Cindy.
27. Thanks, Cindy.
sorry, i know it’s frustrating.
UH up 7-3. TO CSUN
Like the way Jennings is setting, and the way Tuileta is passing.
Rosy is coming alive with the faster sets.
CSUN challenging whether Kalchev’s kill was out. if it is, UH would be up 11-4.
Kill ruled in, it’s 10-5
Rosenmeier 7-1-11. UH up 15-10 at the TTO
Hawaii up 18-11. TO CSUN
i sent an email to the Hawaii All Access “Contact Support” people. If you want to send an email, click on “Help” in the right upper corner. it will open up to the FAQ/Contact Support page and you can write the send your email. (it actually goes to SideArm streaming support site.) they were going to respond “soon”, but it’s been more than 45 minutes and haven’t heard yet.
Rosenmeier ends it 25-17.
Kudos to the passing, which has enabled Jennings to set however/whomever he wants.
Gasman back in at middle Looks like UH rotated the lineup, Franciskovic service, the Opp front left.
CSUN up 7-2 with three straight blocks. TO UH
CSUN challenging Gasman’s attack being out. if it is, it would be 9-2.
Gasman with the kill it’s 8-3
CSUN up 15-8 at the TTO
How has the passing been for UH? Seems like everyone is struggling offensively with the exception of Rosenmeier and Mol.
Warriors have closed to 19-15. TO CSUN
38. The stream is working! I guess they followed up. Thanks. 🙂
CSUN up 22-16. TO UH
Matadors win 25-19.
not a good third set by the warriors
Stijn doesnt have it today, Rado time?
UH up 11-6. TO CSUN.
51. don’t see that happening.
Why is Rado not getting any playing time, not even as a serving sub like at BYU, don’t get it.
Fey with two kills. it’s 15-8 at the TTO
UH wins 25-19, 25-17, 19-25, 25-17
Rosenmeier 16-2-25, .560, 3 digs, 2 blocks
Fey really stepped it up in the last set, 16-7-30, .300, 6 digs, 2 blocks
Mol 9-1-16, .500, 4 blocks, 3 digs, 1 ace.
Rosy was awesome hope he plays like this from here on out.
The last 8-10 home matches Fey played great too.
Still wish Rado play a bit this weekend we may have to use him against ucla next week or in the mpsf tournament.
lost the internet. UH wins 25-17
56. Surprised that McKellar got the start over Parapunov, if Wade was planning on sitting out Van Tilburg. I would’ve thought Parapunov was ahead of McKellar. Not complaining that McKellar played, but I did expect Parapunov to start and perhaps get McKellar in later on.
Fey was hitting zero in the first two sets but really came alive in the fourth set. What a turnaround. Mol was pretty impressive, too. For the first two sets, he and Rosenmeier were keeping the team going offensively.
#58 – are you kidding? Charlie always starts the seniors on Senior Night. geez. Give the guy a break.
I’m so happy Rosey had a great game. I mentioned it to him and he said he realized he needed to step it up, so look for him to get better in the weeks to come.
Looking forward to tomorrow night’s MVB recognition banquet. We always have it after Senior Night so the the parents can attend.
Note: there might not be a Senior Night next year if Tui gets his year back.
It was weird to see Stijn struggling. Havn’t seen that at all since the Long Beach State matches. He’s been on such a tear the past month .
Thought it was a nice gesture to start Mckellar, thought he should have played some late in the fourth set too, especially on match point.
59. Announcers said Wade gave Iain a choice whether he wanted to play at the beginning or near the end of the match. Wade didn’t always let every senior play on senior night. In 2014, one did not play, unless there was a reason.
Yeah I was surprised McKellar started. It’s probably why Hawaii was so disjointed from the beginning. They couldn’t get in that flow. Usually we would see subs come in after Hawaii going up 2-0, little less pressure.
Hawaii 5, Stanford 0
1. Tucker/Martin (UH) def. Plummer/Gray (STAN) 21-19, 21-19
2. Taylor/Schucht (UH) def. Vanjak/Chang (STAN) 21-15, 21-19
3. Maglio/Weaver (UH) def. Raquel/Richardson (STAN) 21-19, 21-10
4. Homayun/Kan (UH) def. Hentz/Keefe (STAN) 26-24, 21-13
5. Zalopany/Iosia (UH) def. Bowen/Anderson (STAN) 21-16, 21-14
no one should be surprised that McKellar got the start as a senior.
sorry that I will miss the banquet today. Heading to the Big Island
SandBows go 3-0 today at IVC
only have scores for the first two
Hawaii 5, IVC 0
Hawaii 4, TCU 1
