Poly highway
This weekend in American Samoa, head coach Nick Rolovich and defensive coordinator Legi Suiaunoa are meeting with 2017 signees Blessman Ta‘ala and Penei Pavihi.
This is the NCAA’s quiet period, which allows coaches to have off-campus meetings with 2017 prospects who already signed letters of intent.
The Warriors have strengthened the Samoa-Hawaii pipeline.
This coming season, there will be eight players on the roster — 8.2 percent of the scholarship players — who attended high schools in American Samoa. Scheyenne Sanitoa, Eperone Moananu, Alesana Sunia, Viane Moala and Kiko Faalologo are graduates of American Samoa high schools. Jeremiah Pritchard attended Leone High before graduating from Silverado High in Las Vegas. Center Asotui Eli and Pumba Williams lived in American Samoa before moving to Hawaii.
Foist?

Poly highway? Haha. How long were you waiting to drop that one?
ST, what did you mean about Coach Duggan yesterday? It made it sound like Duggan’s continued employment was based on Lempa’s presence or lack thereof.
Nice work building the pipeline from UH to American Samoa.
Interesting article about the Haka and how commercialized and offensive it’s become to Maoris.

#5 Guess it’s a good thing we no do the haka anymore eh?
KEEP ‘EM COMING !!!!! ….. American Samoa … yeah baby …
LIVE ALOHA / PLAY WARRIOR / DEFEND THE ROCK … GO ‘BOWS !!!!!
Burro:
It was apparent that Duggan and Lempa were a package deal when they were hired. But Duggan did well enough to earn his place on the staff after Lempa left. The linebackers developed and Duggan was an enthusiastic recruiter
Old school Dave, Do you know not only Hawaii and BYU do the Haka!. There are a lot more Universities does too!. You got to remember there are a lot’s of American Samoa lives all over the state and do the Haka at the game too.
The Haka belongs to the UH Warriors not the mainland. There is no direct connections like here, copycats.
Don’t forget Jaime Tago, who’s from Samoa too, right?
That “Haka” doesn’t belong to UH and the Warriors. The “Ha’a” does. The “Haka” is a near copy of the one done by the New Zealand Rugby All Blacks team. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PptTeyYShdw
Lot of trends start in Hawaii then the mainland copies and it’s not as cool anymore.
ST,
UH’s ship sailing on…..without Taufa’asau?
#12 There you go again with your horrible grammar and poor spelling. Where did you learn how to write? Your English teachers did a lousy job of teaching. Please don’t tell me you went to college. As for football, Coach Rolo is on the right track.
I believe we should respect everyone’s grammatical limitations on this blog. Ideas and opinions should be encouraged. That being said, I think most people take issue with Ohana Hawaii’s content than his grammar. Just do what I do, skip over his posts. Your blood pressure will thank you.
Thanks ST. I thought the LBs did well and moving Tavai to the middle was brilliant.
Kapakahi
There are only so many seats
It has been several years since I have been to Chestnut Hill, the home of Boston College where I had a few friends. It was a preppy place and very New England with a traditional college look. I cannot imagine a college campus and atmosphere more different from UH. But glad that Duggan will stay and sorry we had to lose Lempa. Ann Arbor is a nice place but with very cold winters– colder than in Boston.
Just anxious to see the defense this coming season because I know they are going to be good. I just wonder about the offense without Marcus Kemp, Makoa Camanse-Stevens, RJ Hollis and Leo Koloamatangi.
ST,
Have heard Rolo say that he likes to keep an extra seat open just in case there’s an attractive last-minute passenger…….so apparently not this one from AS……..but maybe one from NW region instead…….or even an improbable passenger transferring from a Big-12 Lone Star luxury liner.
For example, last year’s QB turned out to be an attractive passenger who was welcome aboard last Summer before Fall Camp.
Sad to see Neil Young doppleganger Kevin Lempa go.
Stephen, with practice eithe 7 or 10 days away, any idea when a roster will be released along with depth chart-interested in seeing the thought process regarding developing roster. GoWarriors!!!!!
I always wondered why UH never looked like
a University, you know, ivy, castle like buildings,
trees, bell towers, etc. And does the new campus
in west Ohau reflect that? No?
McKinely high school looks more like a University
than UH. Maybe they should move there…
