Friday checkin

I’m not on the mainland but did speak to Shoji this morning
Specifically asked about the move for Castillo to the left.
He said that Castillo is going to be the third left and Burns will be the third middle.
When Castillo plays will depend on how either Sibley or Granato are doing. Apparently that will be the sub.
And at the moment Greeley is the passing sub, currently for Sibley.

Burns then plays behind Mitchem and Maglio.
Shoji said moving Mitchem to OH disrupts what they want to do

    1. Ron, me too.

On the previous thread, Tongo #38. If you meant the girl in the white blouse shown after the match point, I believe that was Skyler Williams 2017 recruit, 6’3 middle.

Did a story on Williams in April.
Here’s a brief look at it.
“Quick” is quickly becoming Skyler Williams’ middle name. It describes her arm swing, her decision that volleyball was her sport and her choice to pursue her college career at Hawaii. The 6-foot-2 junior middle blocker at Mayfair High in Lakewood, Calif., is the third 2017 oral commit for the Rainbow Wahine.
Williams, a first-team All-Suburban League selection, hasn’t made her official campus visit, but “I’ve been following them, saw them play on TV, “ Williams told the Star-Advertiser in a phone call Tuesday. “The way they play volleyball made me want to play for them.”
Williams has only been playing volleyball for three years but quickly found success with the Monsoons. She was named the best offensive and most improved as a freshman, and was the MVP this past season as Mayfair won the league championship.
After two years with SoCal Juniors, Williams has moved to Seal Beach (Calif.) Volleyball Club, where she is being coached by former Wahine libero Alex Griffiths.

previous thread 43. cindy i wasnt saying they actually were jet lagged but was a response to someone saying perhaps that they were and that they were not sharp.

but hey considering they dominated, what a difference..no red eye makes.

    isnt that right cindy? 😀

Hope Greeley is getting close to playing front roll. The team will be hard to beat when she gets healthy.

    6. yes, better than the unplanned redeye a few years ago.
But the CSUN team of Thursday not the CSUN team of 14 or 13. Matadors without their starting setter. Few programs can absorb that kind of loss. It speaks to the depth and quality of the Wahine when were able to do so last year.
One of those losses also was Hawaii’s first road trip at a fairly shall we say unfriendly environment. Not making excuses.
