Really looking forwared to watching live streaming this weekend, after being without it last week.
1. wouldn’t get too excited. stationary camera. there may be audio sync.
UOP has led the whole way. it was 20-15. UCLA with three straight. it’s 20-18. TO Tigers.
Pacific up 1-0.
UOP wins 25-22.
UOP up 7-2. TO UCLA
UCLA has closed to 8-6. TO UOP
Ahhh I was unaware that this match wasn’t on Oc16. Bummers. Well gotta cross my fingers that the live streaming is working. I’ll take ANYTHING I can get. And btw I thought UCLA was ranked like 6th? UOP, are they ranked higher? Or Is UCLA just not playing up to their ranking?
Link for clicking on, as per above.

last year’s UCLA Muno moved to right. Helps UCLA to 17-14. TO Tigers.
8. the match is on TV on OCSports. It’s the streaming that isn’t theirs
UOP with a 4-0 run, closes to 22-20. TO Bruins
UCLA wins 25-21.
Wow at Muno being UCLA’s leading hitter!
I wonder if Sealy will play Van Winden against the wahine.
13. Van Winden not cleared to play yet. don’t know if she will be by Saturday.
BTW, stream will be synced to 1420-AM broadcast, according to UH.
While a single camera isn’t ideal, my takeaway on this is — despite weather and other issues — the fans were heard and action was taken pretty quickly in corporate timing. So that’s good news.
With positive feedback, maybe we can get the stream to be expanded for all play next weekend.
Also kudos to whoever was behind getting the audio synced.
15. don’t think it had anything to do with the fans. it’s in the Big West contract that matches have to be streamed. They couldn’t get it done last weekend.
and no, stream is only for UH matches.
16. you can thank UH for syncing.
UCLA has pulled out to a 14-11 lead. TO UOP
UCLA up 18-13. TO UOP
UCLA wins 25-18
adding to Top 25 scores
16) Florida State def. 14) Texas A&M 18-25, 19-25, 25-20, 25-21, 15-8
whew catching up with volleyshots.
say cindy just for insight sake, not sure if you had answered from last match the arizona match on how mckenna ross being brought in was a ‘necessity.’ do you have information or can elaborate on that? like how come she couldnt of been a ‘necessity’ during the k state match?
13. Warriorfan, you were correct about Muno being the new Opposite. She didn’t many attempts or blocks against LMU, but she is more effective on both fronts tonite.
UCLA up 15-13. TO
22. they used to Ross because they had run out of options on the OH. Ross had been an Opp in HS. Koelsch had played Opp sparingly and wasn’t that effective.
As for not playing against KState, it was more that they gave her a shot against Arizona than anything else. As you have seen, the’ve been giving a lot of DSs a chance.
23. had mentioned that Muno was on the right and played back row. Sealy said that they’re trying to put bodies out there and make things work. Interesting to note that the setter Chandler was the libero at Pepperdine a few years ago.
Muno with her 13th kill ends it at 25-19.
Pacific’s errors caught up to them.
25. so cindy youre saying shoji did not think about ross during k state?
28. not what I’m saying. They were in a 6-2 and using Koelsch at Opp against K-State
they went with a 5-1 after Set 1 vs. Arizona. what they wanted in the serving rotation and using Granato in the back row had Higgins out and Ross in.

new thread up for Wahine match.
28. Ross was an OPP in HS who was training to be a DS for UH. Against K State, Koelsch was at OPP, she had 8 kills and hit .261, which was decent. She is also 6’1″ compared to Ross’ 5’10” frame. I think they had committed to Koelsch being the opposite at that point and she wasn’t exactly ineffective, so there was no need to bring a DS in to play front row. Obviously, it was a different case against Arizona.
Survived another one … Sealy is trying a little of everything at opposite – last week Rogers mostly played front row while Muno subbed in back; he started that way tonight, I think, but ended up leaving ZM in all around, and later used Rogers in the front for Buechler for a while. ZM is listed as DS/Lib this year, but has beach skills and can set again if needed.
Coaches are limited in what they can disclose, and UCLA has few fans and no one like you to keep us updated. Jessyka Ngaugmo (sp?) played some opposite at the end of last year, and went back to Australia after 3 years of indoor and sand. I have NO idea why Torrey van Winden can’t play, and I haven’t even heard Haley Lawless’ name this year, and hope she’s not injured again … she’s still on the roster. ZM and freshman Simo are attempting to replace the superior passing and defense of Inouye and Drolson last year … so far, not bad.
Anyone who’s surprised that Chandler is starting setter should review the stats from the successive UT/CO/AZ/AZSt matches in the middle of last season, just before she got concussed in Oregon. I voted her offensive player of those weeks, but nobody paid attention. She has been good at connecting with the middles, though not so much with Felix tonight. She’s a potential blocking liability, but had 3 against Pacific.
I’ll gratefully watch your 3 streams this week and try not to get too grumpy about having to track stats for the rest. For the record, LMU (which has about as many fans as UCLA) did better last week and last year.
Thanks for your contributions – CT
