No men’s poll until after the NCAA tournament
SandBows have the Aloha Invitational at Queens’ Beach Friday and Saturday. play starts at 9 a.m.

Hawaii remained at No. 5 in today’s AVCA Collegiate Beach Volleyball Top 10.
The Rainbow Wahine (11-6) next will compete in the Outrigger Resorts Aloha Invitational at Queens Beach. The field also includes No. 1 USC, No. 6 Long Beach State, No. 10 Florida international, Grand Canyon, Louisiana-Monroe and Washington.
The Women of Troy (23-2) solidified their top ranking with a win over No. 2 Pepperdine (15-3) last Thursday, their second victory over the Waves in six days. There was little movement in the poll with Florida State (24-1) staying at No. 3 and UCLA (15-4) at No. 4.
Behind Long Beach State (9-9) were Arizona (14-3) and Stetson (26-6). Georgia State (22-7) and FIU (11-7) were tied at 10 last week but Georgia State is alone at No. 9 and FIU at No. 10.

Is there any more info about the beach schedule for Fri/Sat? I expect Fri will be team competition with Sat being a pairs tourney? The seeming lack of availability of competition times is rather frustrating. I love to watch the team play in Waikiki, but I can’t just spend two days down there waiting to see what’s gonna happen. I find it hard to believe UH doesn’t have the schedule set up…why not publish it?

Congrats to Amber on her success as a professional and at her new volunteer coaching position. Recall the 2009 post season USC match where I was fortunate enough to witness her destroy the Women of Troy. IMO, one of the best single match ever by a UH middle against a huge Trojan team!

    1. this is not a UH event. been dealing with the promoter myself and not getting a lot of info, just times which is 9 a.m. both days.
will let you know when I get more.

    3. thought Cubi-Otineru’s match against SC was pretty good as well.
