    lot of challenges early on.

Definitely looks like the toughest schedule he’s put together in quite some time

agreed – tough schedule. but a mostly veteran team returning. so i like that coach scheduled tough.

It’s a good schedule, should help UH possibly host, since the Big west will probably be weak again.

Great schedule. Sets up the team well for RPI postseason. Hopefully this will translate into a 2009 type season. Wow, opening with Wisconsin! Still remember the regional final loss to them in five.

I sure hope they get those legal issues worked out and can provide online video streaming of UH sports again, for those of us who now live on the mainland and can’t attend or view them on TV. 🙁

    5. that was an epic match in 04 back when they played to 30. UH had a swing for it in the 5th but hit long/wide. Really long rode trip. we were on the road from Nov. 17 for the WAC tourney in Reno through Dec. 10 in Green Bay, including stops at Utah State and Utah.

The schedule bodes well for the athletic department financially. There are a lot more big name schools on the schedule therefor attendance should be higher than normal.

#7 If Ashley did not injure her hand, I think we would have won. It was a near perfect season.

Hopefully Hawai’i does well so that they may host a sub-regionals & regionals this year.

tongo, i really agree and if i remember correctly, Victoria Prince was also not 100% during that game as well.

What I noticed in the Nebraska schedule release was that it said starting this year the top four remaining seeds of the tournament will be hosting the regionals. This was brand new info for me. Pretty interesting because it basically gives home court advantage for most of the tournament which is huge. Unless Hawaii is undefeated or their opponents step it up big I can’t see them getting a Top 4 seed.

Every time I see the Hawaii schedule I see No. Illinois, I think No. stands for number as in ranked Illinois then I get excited because it would be two Bog Ten teams. But Northern Illinois is fine as well. Still can’t believe we got Wisconsin to come in.

This years Regionals are not predetermined in that no one knows at this point who will be the top four remaining seeds in each of the four quadrants after Rounds 1 and 2, and no one can know if those surviving schools will exercise their option to host. Hard to imagine they wouldn’t choose to host, but you never know. So, in summary, to host a Regional in 2016, a team doesn’t need to be a top seed going into Round 1 and 2, but they need to be the top seed remaining in their quadrant after Round 2, and that top remaining seed in that quadrant must then elect to host and not defer. This setup skews the odds that the top seed going into each quadrant will also wind up being the Regional host, but it doesn’t preclude upsets to the top seed(s) in Round 1 and 2, which could shift regional hosting duties to the top remaining quadrant seed. If a team hopes to host a Regional, they should aim to be a top Four ranked team most of the year and at the end of the year, or falling short of that, a top Eight team and then hope for top seed upsets in their quadrant for Rounds 1 and 2.

Agree with you that if Watanabe hadn’t injured her hand in the subregional, could have been a different outcome. Prince caught a cold at the WAC tournament and never was a 100 percent after that.

    12. mentioned that about the regionals not being predetermined last year. It will be interesting to see how it works. But as I mentioned to Shoji, that it likely means Hawaii will never host if that stays the norm
