The weekly honors add up

Forgot to mention yesterday that besides Zarkovic and Worsley being recognized in men’s volleyball, the SandBows had the top pair from the Big West for a fourth straight week

Hannah Rooks and Ka’iwi Schucht earned their first award
Spoke to them today for a feature that runs Thursday.

Also at the courts today was former player Brittany Tiegs, fresh off playing in Australia where she won a couple of tournaments. She is headed back to Florida later this week and begins her AVP season in April.

From the Big West

the No. 3 pair of Rooks (Jr., Honolulu, O’ahu/Kaiser HS) and Schucht (So., Escondido, Calif./Serra HS) went 5-0 on the week against all-ranked opposition to receive their first-ever Big West Beach Volleyball Pairs Team of the Week honors.

Perfect in match play, the twosome helped UH to a 4-1 upset of the No. 2 Seminoles and contributed to wins versus No. 9 Stetson and No. 10 FIU. The duo also aided the Rainbow Wahine in stringing together now six-straight wins to improve to 9-5 on the season.
