Role playing
The Warriors will be forming scout teams in preparation for the Sept. 3 opener against Colorado.
That will mean that either Beau Reilly or Aaron Zwahlen will portray Colorado quarterback Sefo Liufau in drills against the Warriors’ first- and second-team defenses.
Max Wittek and Ikaika Woolsey took all the reps in the team sessions yesterday.
UH coach Norm Chow said the depth chart is still “fluid” and being evaluated, and that the top 68 spots have not been set for the opener. The tentative plans still call for all four quarterbacks to be on the travel roster.
The Mountain West has expanded the travel roster from 64 players to 68 players for games between league opponents. There is no roster limit for inter-conference games. Chow has indicated he would like to bring more than 68 players to the Sept. 12 road game against Ohio State.

Scenes from yesterday’s late-afternoon practice:
Good morning ST…
Great pics to start the day..
ST,
Any new roster additions (now that school has started)?
Good Morning Bigwave and kapakahi! 😉
Good scouts = good team. Geev ‘um Warriors!
High hopes this year from all the folks I talk to about the Warriors. Showtime is just a little more than a week away.
GO WARRIORS!!!
Again, great pics. Trayvon Henderson is built like a linebacker with those calves and shoulders/arms. Glad to see Lakalaka running passing routes.
Love to look at all of your photos, ST.
I am still trying to match the names with the pictures.
Good luck, Warriors!
Hubby and I will be rooting for you.
Woosley is da man let him lead us this year.
The man wants to redeem himself so I say let him.
Bernard looks good…Hopefully, he’ll add to the offensive options. I never felt Woolsey was ready for prime time, just doesn’t show the leadership or confidence you want in a QB. I wouldn’t be surprised if Zwahlen moves up the depth charts…
So…when will CU arrive in Hawaii?
And leave?
And where will they stay?
Chow better bring more than 68 players to OSU. It’s going to be a very physical battle.
Colorado will depart on Tuesday

So they arrive Tuesday.
Let’s give them a Welcome they will never forget. Hehe
Good morning everyone!
The depth chart firming up means game time is nearing!
Go Scout Team!
awesome pics
is there a contest for some UH gear?
I still believe chow should play two QBs gives us the advantage of throwing off the defense game plan.
Play two QB’s at the same time?
I have no doubt Ohio State would beat us. What I would like to see is our boys giving them such a go at it that all you read about the next day are excuses as to why they did not simply stomp us. A tall order, yes but it is always nice to be optimistically hopeful in the face of daunting odds.
Scout reporting that Netane Muti, 6’4″, 280# DE from Leilehua verbally committed to US today….
Wow, Kanawai Noa won starting punt return job at Cal!
3 Prong,
Got my tickets today. We’re in section 8. More towards the end zone.
Testing
Aiyah!
I keep getting flagged here for some reason…and I have NO clue why.
fruitcakes! I keep getting ERROR: The comment could not be saved. Please try again later.
Whatever’s! I guess my comments about missing Momo & Betty’s Pan Lau Lau are obscene! Sheesh!
🙁
Great Evening All!
Game prep. WooHoo!
mo808
😆
ST … is the plan still to redshirt Ursua? He looks in football shape and gets quite a bit of photo time from you. Play um now?
Warrior Dave, you probably have a better viewing angle with the height! We gotta yell loud they might hace us outnumbered 104,500 to 500!
mo808 — maybe ST & the techs have to give you “permanent” clearance or similar. Since you have comments 20-25, maybe he just did. 🙂
I actually like the odds 104,000 against 500. Just like the Spartans! Go Warriors!
I forgot you Maddog50,……501!!!!
i gotta cool my jets. we need to beat da buffs first gunfunnit!!!
There have been some inquiries regarding the transfer form K-State, Tyson Beaune. If you go to the UH football home page the film clip/picture about the end of camp that is him in the blue shirt I think. Not in equipment-do not know if blue shirt signifies anything but for those who have asked pretty sure that’s him.
Muti committed a month ago.
Beaune had arm surgery and will not play this year.
Nothing to blue.
That’s his own clothes.
I am so excited about the upcoming football season, I went to a women’s soccer match.
Not that anybody asked for this, but here is my hierarchy of UH sports interest.
1. Men’s basketball
2. Women’s basketball
3. Baseball
4. Football
5. Softball
Those are events I attend.
6. Women’s volleyball
7. Soccer
8. Water Polo
9. Men’s volleyball
I am so worried about that Ohio State game.
The potential for injury could derail their conference hopes. And it’s all about the conference.
My San Diego Padres chat group assures me that a beat-up Hawaii squad can get past UC-Davis.
Concerning today’s tragedy, if you want to see a film that predicts this sort of horrific event, check out a 1992 film from Belgium called “Man Bites Dog”, this is the movie, I think, that inspired last year’s “Nightcrawler”.
Thanks Steven-don’t know if anybody remembers Sully Weiffels. He came to Hawaii went through camp and just before the opening game decided to leave. Was supposed to go to CSU then opted for Colorado. Right now a back up and guard and center. Bet Kennedy remembers him-Go Warriors!!!!!!
Good Morning Tsaikos….
Whew…been a long time. So busy. But anyway, football is in the air again…Woot Woot.
And the T-gate gang is getting ready. Can’t wait. Hope to see all the old faces back…and hopefully new faces too at the T-gates this season. 🙂
If you haven’t been to one, come on down….Fun, Food, Friends, Football….Good times.
Think Weiffels was the guy who got into it with KT that led to his injury.
7 mo days!
Where do you sit Tsai at games…on the bench?
It’s sad to see with one of the most talented team we’ve had in a long time our schedule is so challenging. Hopefully we leave a mark on the ranked teams that Hawaii came to play.
