SandBows stay No. 2, MVB tickets going fast, new recruit
http://avca.org/sand/poll/
poll unchanged from last week led by
1. USC 19-0. 2. Hawaii 12-1. 3. FIU 18-1. 4. Pepperdine 10-4.
If it holds, USC, UH and Pepperdine are the three from the West, FIU and FSU 2 of the 3 from the East
Expanded tournament now 8 teams. They’ll have the AQ from the Atlantic Sun (likely Stetson) and one at=large that could be from any region. I could see it being Long Beach State.
SandBows finish up home schedule this week at the Ching courts
Saturday Sand Showcase starting at 9 a.m., Outrigger Invitational Sunday at noon.
Competing this week are UH, Grand Canyon, HPU and San Jose State
Oceanic will telecast at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
3 seniors will be honored Sunday Tiegs, Brown and Urban. after the end of Sunday’s matches

tickets for MPSF quarters on sale and sales are brisk. I know a lot of the season ticket holders took advantage of their early access to buy.
All lower bowl at LOW availability
No upper bowl on sale yet, at least not online.
If interested in those, give the box office a call at 946-4482.
Just checked and upper bowl tickets are on sale online at UH Athletics.
Apparently the new recruit is Natasha burns. 6’5 middle from Canada that signed with West Virginia
where did you find that out??
I saw videos of her on youtube from a year ago, and I am Impressed.
Posted on volley talk and her twitter confirms it. She blocks like crazy. Needs to work on hitting and power, but dave can do it.
I am very impressed, her head is well above the net when she blocks. She will be a blocking monster, and paired up with Emily UH will be a great blocking team.
I’m surprised. West Virginia and Hawaii are about as different as you can get while still in the US.
How is her movement along the net?
I see it was posted by “blaase” in the transfers forum , and then LC got her twitter to confirm it on his diggingnawahine twitter account.

Video of her from tournaments in 2013. nearly a year and a half ago, so she might be quicker and hitting with more power now.
Pretty good setaone. Her weakness is hitting, from the video I’ve seen. Kind of like Jade V, but she looks like she could improve
Video is old, I bet she has improved and think Dave will certainly help her game a lot.
I knew we would find out before long. There’s people always diggin. Good stuff now we will have two from Canada. Can’t wait.
appears that the slide is not in her repertoire. Hopefully she learns a thing or 2 from Mitchem.
2 through 12. bingo
6. there is a Hawaii connection in that Reed Sunahara is the new WV coach.
Is burns Hall’s first recruit? Not a bad first recruit.
Also good news on the recruiting front for the warriors in landing Austin Matautia. Top hawaii player in next years class. Charlie Wade is doing really great recruiting wise the past couple of years.
I read somewhere that the 2016 sand recruits has a dual indoor/sand player. Anyone know who that might be? Am I missing someone or something?
It’s Emma Smith. she’s a 5′ 8 libero and is a great beach player as well.
14. officially yes. But Shoji was very involved.
Wade has done well but he hasn’t gotten some of the ones he really wanted. Tuileta comes to mind. But that was more of football not coming through on their end.
15. not sure if smith will play indoors this fall.
