Talk about a bad rotation. Not sure why Brook hasn’t been set this whole 6-0 run that Pepp made.
Jennings came to play today, what an awesome save and huge block.
Pepperdine up 15-13 at the TTO
UH had led 7-5, gave up 6 straight. Playing catchup since then
UH has tied it at 21-21. TO Waves
Ace by Averill gives UH a 24-22 lead. TO Waves
It’s 24-23. TO UH
Why set Holt, when Siki has been hot?
Wow Holt did not play well that first set, but then came up with a huge DIG of all things lol
Zarkovic with the kill, UH wins 28-26
Pepperdine up 15-11 at the TTO
Hope UH gets Averill going. Also wanna see Hartley come in for Fey see if he can do more offensively.
Waves have pulled away at 17-11. TO UH. they do get in bad rotations.
Pepperdine pulling away at 21-15.
UH looked a bit lethargic this set, but hope Hartley in the lineup changes things around.
Sarkovic stuffs the Waves’ setter. UH pulls to 22-19. TO Waves.
Some interesting subs. Radner and Hartley in. Holt with a block, it’s 24-22.
TO Waves.
Waves win 25-22.
Jennings needs to set Averill every chance he gets, 3 attempts for him in 2 whole sets is not gonna get it done.
UH up 15-10. TTO
Another bad rotation for Hawaii. they were up 21-17. it’s now 21-20
Zarkovic ends it. 25-22. on to Set 4
Thank god for Siki, he is becoming so clutch.
Averill is having an off match, if UH can win this with him not playing well that would be amazing.
I love hartley’s armswing, Just so powerful.
UH up 8-5. TO Pepperdine
Hawaii looked to have lost focus, but they’re up 15-13 at the TTO.
Hartley with his 13th kill, gives Hawaii a 19-15 lead. TO Pepperdine
Hawaii serving for the match at 24-18
Zarkovic ends it 25-18
Hartley 14th kills in 3 sets, awesome, game MVP.
Hope he starts from now on.
I like that Hartley is still upset about that USC lost , it really should be 9 in a row and UH should be first place right now, . Hope the whole team takes his mentality that every match should be played like the last match of the year.
30. They are where they are. They pulled it out against SC when trailing late and SC did the same thing the next meeting.
HALF-WAY There…We Will Be There…
NEED Three More Set WINS on SUNDAY
Then Can Climb Past #5 Pepperdine AND #4 BYU who lost to UNRANKED STANFORD (It’s FUN to Use that Term, “UNRANKED STANFORD” for whatever reasons…
Complained to OC-16 –H.S. Is Good
BUT They are Skipping Major D-1 Sports Events (like Sunday) that WILL Affect Top Five Rankings… Top Five… I CONSIDER One of BEN JAY’s Most Ignorant and Financially Irresponsible (Lack of Moves AND DUE Diligence) was NOT Obtaining a Quote or Meeting with KFVE…I BET They Would Have Out-Distanced OC-16 By MORE Than the recent $1.2 Million Donation… The BOOKS Would Already Be Balancing…AND WE Would Get BETTER Coverage Like we used to…FROM Blangiardi and Co. who Invented the Concept AND Made UH NUMBER ONE in the Country In Coverage … DOES Anyone Think SSC (10,300 seats) would have EVER BE SOLD OUT (Women’s AND Men’s VB: Not Even Visionary Shoji could ‘See” That…) without KFVE? SRO, Standing Room Only Tickets for The LES — That IS, Selling SEATS TWICE for a Chance to Find an Open One BECAUSE ALL the Games were Televised — There is a Different Level of Marketing Understanding Here that THE OHIO STATE Assistant AD Did NOT Understand…..We DON’T Have The 10 Million Population Numbers — THE Hawai’i Fans Need to Fall In Love with The team and Players…
I sooo agree with #32!!!! Wish kfive got the contract!
32 & 33 – I second to that. UH might have been better off with KFVE – the home team which televised all the home games for both men and women VB.
32.
Who cares about the weekly rankings, the MPSF seeding is WAY WAY WAY more important. If the Warriors can beat Pepperdine again, they have a legit shot getting that top seed, as they move into the second half of the conference, which means home court advantage, that’s huge!!
The AVCA, ESPECIALLY in the mens game has little to no power when it comes to deciding the postseason, let alone judging the accuracy of how good the teams are.
Indeed as the latter half of the conference season comes around, the Warriors have a more favorable season.
I am a little shocked Tiegs/Taylor lost to Pepp’s 4 and 5 teams , after beating their top team yesterday.
Congrats to Spieler/Urban though for finishing second in gold, looks like they gave Pepp’s top pair a real challenge.
new thread up on sand results from Saturday.
