Wong’s team wins 25-21.
Teams are switching setters. Tuaniga the only blocker on Wong’s team. Adolpho goes to Ah Mow’s team.
both Uiato and TK are playing. I missed them in the lineup. thank you DF for pointing out who i was missing
Kyra G. hasn’t played.
Sorry DF, didn’t mean to delete your post. please re-post.
Cindy, that is ok. You answered my question. In your #2 post. But I do have a question, are they rotating like in a regular set and match, or are they stationary. Meaning, for instance, Hartong just stays on the LS, does not rotate thru all 6 position?
5. Yes, this is the real deal.
Passi serving, has Ah Mow’s side, with Hartong and Uiato up 16-9.
3. I can see Kyra G. not playing much since she will most likely redshirt.
Ah Mow’s team wins 25-13. which means Uiato’s side has won both times. Final point came when Adolpho had a nice read as Tuaniga tried to tip on 2nd contact.
Very impressed with Kawamura at libero.
There is a definite difference with set selection between the two setters, IMHO. thought Uiato and Hartong connected very well but that side didn’t have as many trouble sets as when Higgins was setting that side. Higgins went a lot to Hartong on the bail-me-out set.
Cindy, how was Uiato’s and Higgins’s sets to the MB’s? Last year, Uiato was a little off, on her sets to the MB’s.
They are switching up a few things.
Wong’s team. 2 setters, Kyra G setting when in the back row, Higgins in the front row. this team has Kastl, Long, Taylor, Vorster, Manu-Olevao, Lelepali, Ponce.
Ah Mow’s team. Uiato, Kaela at OP, Tuangia, Mendoza (L), Passi, Adolpho, Long, Kawamura, Hartong.
think the MBs are connecting well. wouldn’t blame Uiato for everything. Vorster still jumps early sometimes, as she did on the set from Kyra G.
Shoji called a lift on Mendoza, drawing loud boos. Kaela G. hitting well on the right.
Just thinking, without Croson, the MB’s need to be more of a force, so their timing with the setter has to be much, much better. The MB’s need to average at least 3 kills a set. Also, the RS has to be more involved in the offense, averaging around 2-3 kills a set. Cannot just rely on Hartongs arm.
Cindy the Nebraska Red White scrimmage was a sellout today 10 bucks a pop $ 7 to stand I don’t understand why so many people were jumping all over me on your previous thread.
they aren’t relying on Hartong’s arm for sure today. They have plenty of options at OHs. and you’ll see that when they start playing.
13. Cindy, wonder if the team will make him do a little running for that call. Just joking around.,
Manu-Olevao’s serve has her team (with Higgins) rallying from down 18-15 to a 19-18 lead. Adolpho puts down to kills and Uiato’s side back up 20-19. after a 20-20 tie, Uiato dump and a block on Taylor on the left gives Uiato’s team a 22-20 lead.
Shoji misses an obvious net but both sides kept playing. good rally but Passi hits wide. Vorster on the overpass ties it at 22.
Uiato’s side win 26-24. Tuaniga on a very quick slide, Manu-Olevao hits wide, may have been led too much on the set by Higgins. very balanced teams.
Cindy, does Tuaniga’s shins seem to be holding up? In previous years, it seemed to be giving her a little problem.
For the moment, the shins look good. She is moving really well.
Recap on a new thread in a bit.
22. That is good news. Really hoping Tuaniga finally has a pain free year. So she can show people how well she can play, not having her shins holding her back.
Thanks for the info LC. Think there is a big push at Nebraska now that they are moving some matches into the bigger arena. What was the total they drew?
As I said, I will ask Shoji. Agree UH could make some money with it.
but the issue may be the continued harping on it.
25. Nebraska match had 8,243
Thank you. Shoji was aware of them drawing over 7,000.
they could very well pass UH in attendance this year.
see new thread for mini recap.
